'''Megalodon''' is the [[Beast Handler (BTD6)|Beast Handler]]'s path 1 tier 5 [[upgrade]] in ''[[Bloons TD 6]]''. The Beast Handler now handles a megalodon instead of an orca. In order to upgrade to Megalodon, the Orca must have 3 additional merged Orcas. Its Beast Power is increased by +20, changing its Beast Power scale from 16–64 to 36–132, with the default being 84 with the three extra tier 4s.

Megalodon now has shorter jump delay, from 1.1 seconds to 0.8 seconds, faster splash rate, and its thrash splash has more damage, radius, and knockback power. Additionally, Megalodon now drags MOAB-Class bloons much faster, for <math>\text{RemainingHP}/5000</math> seconds. The beast can now drag [[BAD (BTD6)|BADs]] but the maximum dragging time is 30 seconds for BADs instead of 6 seconds.
The Megalodon's thrash splash has more damage (30–90 → 600–1800) and pierce (20–60 → 50–90), radius (24 → 48), and improves knockback against [[MOAB-Class Bloon|MOAB-Class Bloons]], moving them backwards at 50% speed. Additionally, Megalodon now drags MOAB-Class Bloons much faster, for <math>\frac{\text{RemainingHP}}{5000}</math> seconds. Megalodon can also drag [[BAD (BTD6)|BADs]], but the maximum dragging time is 30 seconds for BADs instead of 6 seconds. The range of the Megalodon itself is 60 instead of 50.

Megalodon, like its lower tiers, has a ton of raw power for the cost, but is limited by water placement and downtime. Its thrash having incredibly strong damage, high pierce and a knockback second only to [[Monarch of Storms]] makes it an incredibly good option for defeating {{BTD6|Boss Bloon}}s, able to outperform competitors such as [[MAD (BTD6)|M.A.D.]] and [[Flying Fortress (BTD6)|Flying Fortress]]. Attack speed buffs (namely [[Overclock (BTD6)|Overclock]]) are very valuable for it and stall towers such as a [[Symphonic Resonance]] can help greatly by covering downtime. The high cost prevents Megalodon from being a viable [[CHIMPS]] option, but it can be potent if playing beyond round 100 as it can instakill {{BTD6|BAD}}s up to round 200.
The optimal merge for a Megalodon is max power with 6 [[Great White]]s, on top of the 3 [[Orca]]s required to build the Megalodon. If possible, those 3 Orcas can be sold with [[Favored Trades (BTD6)|Favored Trades]] and replaced with Great Whites, which are far more efficient for merging into a Megalodon. Using 6 Orcas to merge is only necessary when space, tower count, or tiers are limited and a Power 132 Megalodon is needed. Otherwise, it is not worth for how much investment versus power gain is obtained.
