However, it faces fierce competition from {{BTD6|Super Glue}}, which replicates its functionality at a cheaper cost and pulls ahead when used with {{BTD6|Sauda}} or {{BTD6|Pop and Awe}}.

Icicle Impale is best paired with towers (both damage and support) that fare well on dense rounds, such as {{BTD6|MOAB Press}} and {{BTD6|Glaive Lord}}. 0-2-5 grants increased attack speed, pierce, and freeze duration, greatly enhancing its stalls and DPS. Use two {{BTD6|Acidic Mixture Dip}}s and a {{BTD6|Radar Scanner}} to allow it to handle DDTs. If said support is unavailable, 2-0-5 can be used.
