The Desperado is a Primary tower in Bloons TD 6, introduced in 49.0. It is unlockable by popping 3,500,000 Bloon layers or by purchasing the "premium Desperado pack" from the Shop, which also instantly unlocks all upgrades.
The Desperado is a Primary tower in Bloons TD 6, introduced in 49.0. It uses a pistol that fires twice in rapid succession each time it attacks. ==Mechanics==
The Desperado's pistol attack fires multiple shots in quick succession before it starts its cooldown. The delay between shots is not affected by attack speed modifiers, and the cooldown does not start until after it fires all shots. If it fires a shot, but there are no targetable Bloons within range while it still has shots left, it waits until it can fire its next shot and does not start its attack cooldown. If it reaches the end of a round, it instantly reloads its shots.

Mechanics
The 0-0-0 Desperado fires two shots per attack with a 0.1-second delay between shots and a 1.2-second attack cooldown. Each shot deals 1 Sharp-type damage to its target. Its shots hit the Bloon instantly, without any travel time, and it cannot hit more than one Bloon at a time (even with pierce buffs). Its path 1 upgrades affect the shot count and shot interval of its pistol, and its cooldown can be reduced from its path 1 and 3 upgrades as well as external buffs.
The Desperado's basic attack fires two shots from its pistol each time it attacks, with a 0.1-second delay between shots. It has a 1.2-second attack cooldown, but it does not start its cooldown until after it has fired both shots. If it fires the first shot, but there are no targetable Bloons within range when the second shot is supposed to fire, it will wait until it can fire the second shot (i.e. it only fires one shot the next time it attacks and does not start its attack cooldown until after the second shot). Each shot deals 1 sharp-type damage to its target. Its shots hit the Bloon instantly, without any travel time, and it cannot hit more than one Bloon at a time (even with pierce buffs).

A list of Monkey Knowledge that are specific to the Desperado. Does not include Monkey Knowledge that are specific to the Primary class or all towers. Although not mentioned in-game, these Monkey Knowledge upgrades affect the Desperado.
Desperado currently has no Monkey Knowledge specific to it. However, it is affected by Monkey Knowledge specific to Primary and all towers.

The Desperado is useful for early game, even on many hard maps. Two Desperados or a Dart Monkey and a Desperado are viable starting choices for CHIMPS runs, and the Desperado's high range and perfect targeting can make these starts very consistent and easy to pull off compared to other options. Base Desperados can be used to chip strong bloons and snipe strays, using mostly Strong and First targeting. They also work as "spotters" for Advanced Intel Monkey Subs due to their large range and cheap Camo detection upgrade.

The top path further improves it's single target damage to the point where it can carry a defense in the midgame or defeat a T1 boss with it's rapid speed and damage, but it quickly falls off after round 80 to grouped superceramics and thus requires help to clean up children.
The top path focuses on single-target damage with the pistol attack. Compared to bottom path Sniper, top path Desperado can get higher DPS, much higher with Bounty Hunter support, but with limited range. The Blazing Sun is a strong, cheap option for T1 bosses.

The middle path has lots of utility for farming or for other Desperados with it's Take Aim ability, allowing a range and Camo detection buff, as well as the Bounty Hunter marking bloons for more cash per pop, similar to a Rubber to Gold. The Golden Justice extends it's damage output to provide excellent crowd control with it's infinite pierce rifle, but is an expensive save.
The middle path focuses more on long range group damage with a rifle. Deadeye and Bounty Hunter offer mid-game support against Ceramics, Take Aim, and Bounty Hunter marking beefy single target blimps to double all Desperado damage against them. Golden Justice does incredible damage with infinite pierce, but its slow attack speed requires cleanup support.

The Bottom path uses a shotgun to damage and knock back groups of Bloons. the Avenger reduces lives lost when a Bloon leaks, which can provide nice utility in case of stray Rainbows and below but is rather niche. The knockback on weaker MOAB-Class Bloons and shrapnel damage on Avenger makes it a solid pick for assisting defenses, and is a clean stepping stone to the Desert Phantom, which can give plenty of time to pop MOAB-Class Bloons by itself.
The bottom path focuses on crowd control using a short range shotgun. It has high group damage and knockback, but is weak against single targets and DDTs, and it needs cleanup support to cover its slow attack speed.
