Alternate Bloons RoundsAlso parsed "Alternate Bloon Rounds". (often abbreviated as ABR) is a game mode in Bloons TD 6. In standard play, it is played on Hard difficulty. This mode redesigns the first 140 rounds to be much more difficult, generally by introducing strong Bloon types earlier and having more rounds with Bloon Mods such as Camo Bloons. After round 140, the game changes to freeplay round generation with no alterations. Since the mode is normally played on Hard difficulty, rounds 1 and 2 are skipped by default and the player wins after completing round 80; rounds 81-140 are optional and rounds 1 and 2 can only be seen in other modes such as the Challenge Editor.

Some rounds intentionally spawn less bloons than Standard Rounds to give less cash. Here are the examples until Round 100.
Round 21: Yellows are ranked down to Reds, and Pinks are ranked down to Blues.
Round 24: Single Camo Lead spawns instead of a Camo Green and some Blue Bloons.
Round 33: Camo Yellows are ranked down to Camo Blues.
Round 54: Ceramics are ranked down to Blacks, and the second MOAB is now a BFB. Since there were 35 Ceramics in Standard Round 54 and a BFB only contains 16 Ceramics, this change effectively reduces the cash earning from bloons.
Round 74: Regular Ceramics at the beginning converted into Regrow Blacks, and Fortified Ceramics at the end are removed.
Round 78: Zebras instead of Rainbows, and the first Ceramic rush changed from 75 Ceramics to 60 Fortified Ceramics.
Round 83: 20 Fortified MOABs instead of 30 MOABs.
Round 88: Introduces first DDTs, but ZOMGs are removed.
Round 91: 15 Fortified BFBs instead of 20 BFBs.
Round 95: Camo Regrow Fortified Leads removed, Fortified MOAB counted reduced from 50 to 30.

Some rounds, like 76, in Alternate Bloons Rounds are considered easier than Standard Rounds. Round 76 in Standard Rounds contains several Regrow Ceramics, but Round 76 in Alternate Bloons Rounds features several BFB<nowiki/>s. Despite Round 76 in ABR having a higher RBE, Round 76 in ABR can be easier with better MOAB-class damage.
