Geared is an [[Advanced]] map with a large rotating gear that rotates 45° each round, moving and rotating towers with it, thus the towers return to their initial position and rotation every 8 rounds. The only other map with platforms that can move and rotate towers is [[Sanctuary]]. There is also a small rotating gear right below the center of the map that towers can be placed on and rotates approximately 100° every round. The map is single-lane, with bloons entering from the left and exiting to the right.

Geared is an Advanced map in Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 16.0.

Geared was added as part of a contest to celebrate 50k subscribers to the r/BTD6 subreddit, where fans could make their own map designs. It and Bazaar ended up winning.[1]

Layout

Geared is an Advanced map with a large rotating gear that rotates 45° each round, moving and rotating towers with it, thus the towers return to their initial position and rotation every 8 rounds. The only other map with platforms that can move and rotate towers is Sanctuary. There is also a small rotating gear right below the center of the map that towers can be placed on and rotates 108° every round. The map is single-lane, with bloons entering from the left and exiting to the right.

  • Corvus — Since the early game is the hardest part of this map, the ability of his Spirit and his Spear spell that are both not disabled by the map's rotation to trivialize the early game is crucial to defeating this map. In the midgame, his level 7 Spirit Walk ability allows him to constantly farm mana and his spells can save up tens of thousands. Active micromanagement of his spells, especially Ancestral Might and Overload, maintain his power into the late game.
  • Sniper Monkey — They are largely unaffected by the map's rotation and are crucial to the early game and saving up to Corvus in the early game in Half Cash and CHIMPS. The lack of line-of-sight blockers solidifies their capability further.
