Crossbow Master (BTD6): Difference between revisions

Crossbow Master is a decent mid-game tower, requiring a 3-2-0 [[Berserker Brew (BTD6)|Berserker Brew]] to maximize its mid-game power by allowing it to two-shot {{BTD6|Ceramic Bloon}}s without needing crits by turning them into {{BTD6|Rainbow Bloon}}s or 1-HP Ceramics (depending on whether {{BTD6|Acidic Mixture Dip}} is active) and then nothing. Without Berserker Brew, it becomes weak even during the mid-game due to the shots turning Ceramics into many {{BTD6|Blue Bloon}}s that pierce-cap it. Its power falls off starting on Round 81 due to [[Ceramic Bloon (BTD6)#Super Ceramic Bloon|Super Ceramics]] starting to appear, preventing it from layer-skipping Ceramics effectively. Its [[Sharp Shooter (BTD6)|previous upgrade]] is a pretty weak stepping stone, much less of a mid-game carry than Crossbow Master.

Crossbow Master relies on straight lines to maximize its pierce and prevent its shots from missing. Due to the lack of abundant straight lines on [[Expert]] maps, it is generally not recommended to use Crossbow Master on these maps. 0-2-5 is the optimal crosspath, as the greater attack speed's granting of extra single-target damage and reliability outweighs the importance of extra pierce, especially on maps without abundant straight lines. Crossbow Master can also be used as a simple way to defeat {{BTD6|Deflation}} on [[Beginner]] and [[Intermediate]] maps, requiring {{BTD6 mk|Come On Everybody!}} and {{BTD6 mk|Bonus Monkey!}} to afford a 0-2-5 Crossbow Master.
