Tower XP, or Tower experience, is system to unlock Tower upgrades in the Bloons TD series, first introduced in Bloons TD 5. Tower XP is gained by completing rounds and is split amongst all towers as it is accumulated.

Bloons TD 5

XP is given based on the RBE of a given round and is split based on the proportion of cost spent on all towers. After round 71, the amount of XP gained becomes 30% of its original amount.

Tower XP is distributed among each tower based on the total amount of cash currently invested into those towers and their upgrades at the end of each round. For example, if a player currently has $19,000 worth of Ninja Monkeys and $1,000 worth of Dart Monkeys, 95% of the round's XP will become Ninja Monkey XP and 5% of the round's XP will become Dart Monkey XP.

Bloons TD 6

Unlike Bloons TD 5, each round gives a fixed amount of XP.

For each round r, the total XP earned is determined by this formula:

XP={20rfor r2040(r20)+420for 21r5090(r50)+1620for r>50

This formula is the same as Hero XP and player XP before any freeplay or Monkey Knowledge modifiers. Like Hero and player XP, the amount of XP earned is multiplied on higher map difficulties: ×1.1 on Intermediate, ×1.2 on Advanced, and ×1.3 on Expert. For the purpose of XP caluclations, cash spent on Heroes is ignored.
