Take on 25 brutally tough rounds in the ultimate test of your bloon popping skills: The Crucible! Your only chance to defeat these rounds is to harness the Altars of Power. Place your towers on an altar to supercharge their attacks with blistering speed.

The Crucible is an event in the multiplatform version of Bloons TD 5. The objective is to complete 25 modified rounds that are much stronger than the standard round set. It uses a unique track with two "Altars of Power" that buff towers placed on top of them, granting them 5× attack speed, +15% range, and Camo detection. The player starts with $2,000 (before Monkey Lab modifiers), but cannot use Portable Lakes or Pontoons.

Like the special mission of the same name from Bloons TD 5 Deluxe, this track is a modified version of Bloonhenge with the two crucibles appearing in the very middle of the rocks stationed to the left and right. Compared to the deluxe map, the rocks also recieved a minor visual overhaul with more varied shapes, and the cracked rock on the bottom right is no longer equally severed in half.

Strategy

An easy way to beat all 25 rounds without any premiums or Monkey Lab upgrades is to use the new towers: the Monkey Engineer and the Heli Pilot, as the two towers powered by the Crucible.

1. Start with a Fast Engineering and 9-inch nails Engineer on one of the crucibles.
2. On round 4, place a Quad Darts Heli Pilot on the other crucible.
3. After round 5, upgrade to Pursuit and Bigger Jets. On round 7, upgrade to Razor Rotors.
4. Save up money for an Apache Dartship, which will deal with the rest of the rounds.
