Scenes are customizable locations in Bloons Pop!. They are the main system of progression in the game and are used to unlock additional content. Each Scene has several rewards that are unlocked by purchasing and placing items, and once fully restored, start producing additional resources passively. They are split into three "Themes", each with four Scenes: Jungle, The Beach, and The Great Outdoors.
Each Scene has 15 items that are required to be purchased in order to rebuild it. The first item repairs the "main" object of the Scene and unlocks access to the other 14 items. Besides a few items in Monkey Town Hall, all Scene items cost a certain amount of both Monkey Money and Bloonstones to purchase. The player earns a point for each item built and earns a reward for every three points.
Scene items come in three slot types: "small", "large", and "main". All Scenes have one main slot, five small slots, and five large slots. Items can only be placed in a slot of the same type. All Scenes appropriately have five items that change the main slot's appearance, at least five small items, and at least five large items.
Once a Scene is fully restored, several things happen:
The Scene starts producing a type of currency or Powerup passively. The item it produces, the amount, and the time it takes depends on the Scene. Once it produces an item, the player has to collect it before it starts producing again.
The player unlocks the next Scene, if there is one.
The player unlocks more purchasable Scene items for that Scene, if it has any. These items are purely cosmetic and don't count towards game progress.
Edit Mode, introduced in version 2.0, allows the player to further customize the appearance of a Scene after restoring it. It can be used to add, change, or remove items in slots freely, thus enabling some customization options that cannot be performed otherwise:
Small and large slots can be made empty again.
Multiple copies of the same item can be placed.
Some Scenes have additional "main" items that can be purchased to replace the item in the main slot. The main slot cannot be made empty.
