Military Only offers access to a useful group of towers and only takes 60 rounds to beat, making it easy on most maps.
General recommendations
Gameplay
- Compared to Primary Only, Camos and leads are a lot less of a threat. However, due to the increased number of rounds, the player cannot leak all Camos and still win, unlike in Primary Only.
- Submerge and Support and Signal Flare can strip Camos, and every tower has an easily affordable upgrade that grants it Camo detection.
- The easiest way to deal with leads is Full Metal Jacket, a cheap upgrade that deals enough damage to pop them in one hit. Buccaneers and Subs can also pop lead with Hot Shot and Heat-tipped Darts. If you need to pop Camo leads and do not have any towers to strip Camo, upgrade a Sniper Monkey to Full Metal Jacket and Night Vision Goggles.
- There are a heroes that synergize well with military monkeys: Striker Jones (Mortar Monkeys), Admiral Brickell (Subs and Buccaneers), and Rosalia (Aces and Heli Pilots) all buff certain types of military towers.

| Benjamin | Many military tier 5 upgrades are expensive, so Benjamin can help save up for them: some important ones include the higher tiers for Monkey Ace and Mortar Monkey. Be aware that Banana Farms are not allowed on this game mode. | |
| Destroyer, Aircraft Carrier, Carrier Flagship | All 3 top-path boats are solid options in their own right, and transition well between upgrades. Destroyer is best with the 3-2-0 crosspath, and is one of the strongest towers for the early mid-game, even without Berserker Brew. Aircraft Carrier is a solid all-around mid-game tower that does well against blimps and Ceramics alike, and Carrier Flagship effectively guarantees victory. They can be crosspathed either way, with 4/5-0-2 being preferred on maps where the main attack fares poorly and 4/5-2-0 performing better otherwise. If using the 3/4/5-2-0 crosspath, obtain Camo detection elsewhere. | |
| Armor Piercing Darts, Sub Commander | Armor Piercing Darts can help take down MOABs quickly. Ones placed closer to the track should use Heat-tipped Darts to take care of leads and deal a bit more damage, while ones farther away should use Advanced Intel to be able to attack from a distance. Once upgraded it to a Sub Commander, place even more Armor Piercing Darts nearby. This strategy works best on maps with plenty of water, no line-of-sight, and Brickell as the chosen hero. | |
| Monkey Pirates | Monkey Pirates is a cheap finisher that can one-hit kill the BFB on round 60 with its ability, and helps clean up the MOABs in earlier rounds. Crosspath it with Double Shot for increased damage on the main attack, unless Camo detection is needed. | |
| Maim MOAB | Maim MOAB damages and stuns MOABs for brief periods of time, allowing other towers to get more hits in. Its attack can also one-shot Ceramics, giving it some power against MOAB insides. Set it on Strong so it does not waste its power on weaker targets. Crosspath it with Shrapnel Shot for stuns on multiple blimps. |

| Ezili | Ezili's power to strip camo and lead in later levels, in addition to damage over time, are less useful here when a Bloontonium Reactor can do it more reliably. Her MOAB Hex ability also sees less use because military towers are already well-equipped to handle them. | |
| Ray of Doom, M.A.D, Bloon Exclusion Zone | The Dartling Gunner's tier 5 upgrades are all extremely expensive, and may not be affordable before Round 60. Use cheaper finishers such as Monkey Pirates or First Strike Capability instead. |
