Glue Strike is the Glue Gunner's path 2 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It grants Glue Gunner the Glue Strike ability. When activated, this ability glues all Bloons (including MOAB-Class Bloons) on screen, soaking up to five non-blimp layers (all including blimps with Glue Soak) for 11 seconds (24 seconds with Stickier Glue). This ability's glue effect applies a debuff that soaks through all layers (needs Glue Soak for blimp layers) causing affected Bloons to take +2 damage from all damage sources, including damage-over-time effects. Glue Strike's debuff is an excellent support for towers that attack fast and shoot many projectiles, such as Overdrive and Bloonjitsu. The debuff greatly aids these towers against both hyperdense mid-game rounds and high-tier blimps in the late game, especially the BAD, as well as against Boss Bloons. The de-Lead is helpful for DDTs, shielded Dreadbloon, and mid-game rounds with many Leads (such as round 63). However, its instant-use ability struggles against sustained blimps, such as Round 95's DDTs, unless using multiple Glue Strikes. Glue Strike's ability is still beneficial against non-blimps, excelling in Race gamemodes with 2-4-0 crosspath, thanks to its infinite pierce and DoT damage quickly popping Bloons even on its own.

Glue Strike currently allows for 240 crosspath to hit MOABs with 042 being more Ceramic focused but losing the Glue Soak from top path hurts against lower layers, so we’ve increased the base amount of layers glued by Strike & Storm so that it won’t expire on non-MOABs so quickly.

Since glue gunners can’t work together as we all want them to and we could not bite that off for this update, for now have decided to do more for the top and middle paths themselves.

Glue Strike doesn’t seem to hold up to any other option in a similar role, so we’ve doubled down on its support factor with a new role and are hoping for more synergy to emerge there.

With an expensive tier 2 and the T3 breaking the $3k mark Glue Hose doesn’t feel justifiable a lot of the time so base cost is being shifted up to T4.

Glue Strike for the longest time has had crosspath that only technically grants separate intended use cases, this choice though felt too niche and janky so that crosspath requirement is being completely reworked to allow the ability to hit MOABs regardless of crosspath. Glue Strike will instead work around the standard glue crosspathing benefits of more layers or longer duration.

Glue Splatter stands out as weirdly expensive for T2, and is rarely even needed so we’re significantly cutting its price to bring it down to a more affordable range with less pierce, we hope this should make it more worth considering for splatter coverage over piercing.
