Burny Stuff is the Mortar Monkey's path 2 tier 2 upgrade in Bloons Monkey City. It causes its explosions to additionally inflict burn damage over time on non-MOAB-Class Bloons it hits, dealing 1 damage every 2 seconds for 6 seconds. In the Flash version, it deals damage every 2.1 seconds instead, effectively only dealing 2 additional damage in total instead of 3 unless the duration refreshes.

The Mortar Monkey's Monkey Knowledge increases the duration of Burny Stuff by 1 second at levels 4–8, 3 seconds at levels 9–13, or 5 seconds at levels 14+.

Strategy

[edit | edit source]

Burny Stuff is a beneficial method of chipping down Bloons after getting hit at least once. Its high pierce and guaranteed damage over time makes it effective at breaking down Bloon rushes. In addition to its already reliable Lead-popping from Rapid Reload, Burny Stuff does just enough damage for other towers to pop the rest of the weakened Bloons. Target it around a bend or curve near the start of the track for the most consistency.

In the Flash version, Burny Stuff falls off once early MOABs start appearing from late-game tiles, making Mortar not always a great choice. This is less so in the multiplatform version, even on Monkeys From Space, due to the abundancy of pop-based cash generation to afford MOAB+Ceramic defense.

Increased Accuracy can be useful when needing more consistency against fast-moving Bloons. Bigger Blast is a bit too expensive for what it offers on the Flash version and completely useless in the multiplatform version.
