Pat's Pond is an Advanced map in Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 9.0. It takes place at a pond in a forest. This map is associated with Pat Fusty and is a popular spot for Hero picnics.[1]
Layout
[edit | edit source]Pat's Pond has 2 lanes, one coming from the left and one coming from the right, with their entrances and exits overlapping. The left lane curves toward the top, while the right lane curves toward the bottom. In the middle, the lanes diverge apart completely. There is a large pond, the namesake of this map, in the middle for water towers. It contains four removables that block line-of-sight, two trees and two rocks, each removable for $500.
Strategy
[edit | edit source]The optimal strategy is rather unusual on this map. Due to how far apart the lanes are in the middle, most strategies involve cramming short-range towers at either the left or the right entrance. Most global-range towers, such as Heli Pilots and Advanced Intel Monkey Subs, are susceptible to chasing due to the separation of the lanes in the middle, severely hindering their usability. The right entrance is used more often, as it is where the BAD exits and the long time it takes for the BAD to reach there gives more time for towers to prepare. The overlapping entrances and exits also make it hard to tell whether Bloons are leaking or not, making the gameplay frustrating for many players.
Recommended towers and upgrades
[edit | edit source]| Name | Portrait | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Sauda | The fact that only small portions of this map are suitable for tower placements greatly enhances her power on this map. When placed near an entrance and exit, she can cover both lanes quite well and breeze through the early game. In the late game, she shines with her Level 7 and Level 11 synergies with supports that stun Bloons. | |
| Super Glue | The short portion of this map suitable for towers makes it pivotal to stalling Bloons & blimps and buying time for towers to deal damage. Its support capability has been extremely powerful ever since version 41.0. It pairs especially well with Sauda, who can take advantage of its stuns and deal massive damage to Bloons and blimps. | |
| Carpet of Spikes | Carpet of Spikes is one of the few towers that can actually take advantage of the middle, divergent section of the map. Its global spikes defeats DDTs with ease, pops the outer layers of blimps coming from the left, catches Bloon leaks from the right, and trivializes the Round 100 BAD. | |
| Glaive Lord | Its ricocheting and spinning rangs both gain high amounts of power on this map. The ricocheting rangs can bounce all over the map and deal massive damage thanks to this map's layout, and its spinning rangs are powerful against Bloons and blimps close to it due to them covering the entire entrance and exit when placed near one of them. |
