Blooncyclopedia:Bots
Blooncyclopedia uses Pymonkibot, a bot account running Pywikibot, to automatically create certain kinds of articles and replace lots of text very quickly. The account is managed by Polavux.
Text replacement
Pymonkibot can mass search-and-replace text automatically, such as changing categories on images or updating links to a renamed page. You can request text replacements on the talk page, provided the number of pages requiring text replacement is at least 20.
Generating pages
Pymonkibot can automatically generate articles containing technical information pulled straight from the games themselves, such as stats and in-game text, parsed using python scripts. These articles serve as starting points for our editors, filling in most of the numbers and technical details, but leaving all the prose up to human editors (since we don't allow generative AI). This bot is not used very frequently anymore, as most of the work is already done, though it is still used to generate pages for new upgrades in Bloons TD 6 or cards in Bloons Card Storm in updates.
Below is a list of groups of articles that are planned to be generated by a bot. While you can create articles for these on your own beforehand, the bot will likely overwrite them or mess them up when the time comes. You may want to create your articles on sandbox pages first, then merge them with the mainspace once the articles are generated.
You can suggest more sets of articles for the bot to generate on the talk page.
