*~~This is~~ a ~~very~~ low ~~impact~~ card. ~~Not many Monkeys have~~ high ~~enough~~ ammo ~~early on~~ to ~~warrant this card~~ to ~~tackle~~ the ~~first few rounds, and most Monkeys later on have high enough damage that~~ more ~~effective control cards outclass it~~.

*Players should avoid adding too many of Desperate Defense in their decks. It's meant to be a last resort to boost friendly Monkeys, as its name suggests; too many of them may clog the hand at an inappropriate moment if unlucky.

*Desperate Defense gives enough of a damage bonus to be useable for all stages of the game. For early stages, it works with decks with lots of cheap Monkeys such as [[Barrel of Monkeys]], and later in the game allows players to cycle through any excess spare Monkeys to take advantage of the extra damage per shot.

*Although the effect itself isn’t weak, the low amount of value this card adds to a deck makes it generally not a great choice in almost any deck. If you are going to use it, cards with high ammo are preferred, such as [[Frag Bomb Shooter]] or [[Glaive Ricochet (BCS)|Glaive Ricochet]].
