Luminous Cove is an Intermediate map in Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 44.0. The cove features tide pools and Mermonkey ruins. It is one of many hidden entrances to Monklantis.[1] This map was created to promote the Mermonkey, which was released in the same update.
Layout
[edit | edit source]Luminous Cove has 2 alternating lanes, with the Bloons coming from the top-left and exiting at the bottom-right on odd rounds and from the top-right and exiting at the bottom-left on even rounds. On all rounds, Bloons take one loop in the middle before exiting. The pre-waterfall parts of both lanes lie at a higher elevation than most of the map, preventing most towers from reaching there. Most of the map is filled with water, with the central water spot being particularly strategic due to being surrounded by the central loop.
Strategy
[edit | edit source]Due to the surroundings of its strategic central loop being filled with water, water-based strategies are optimal for Luminous Cove. The long portions of the track that lie at higher elevations, while being blocked off by line-of-sight for most of the map, can be overcome with towers such as Heli Pilots and Carrier Flagship. Luminous Cove can be beaten using guidelines below.
Basic Deflation strategies
Basic Apopalypse strategies
Basic Half Cash strategies
Basic Alternate Bloons Rounds strategies
Basic Impoppable strategies
Basic CHIMPS strategies
The Mermonkey secret only opens up new water placement for the rest of the game. For a large cost, it's only worth it for maximizing cash generation of bottom path Monkey Buccaneers, as well as maximizing placements for water-based Paragons (Navarch of the Seas and Nautic Siege Core).
Due to the abundance of strategic water spots on Luminous Cove, certain water towers listed below excel.
Recommended towers and upgrades
[edit | edit source]| Name | Portrait | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Carrier Flagship | Flagship, with its ability to overcome line-of-sight blockers and attack Bloons throughout the map, is especially powerful on Luminous Cove. It tears through the mid-game and 80s, retains great power into the 90s, and grants a ~17% buff to all water towers, which is crucial on this map. | |
| Admiral Brickell | Brickell's synergy with water towers makes her exceptionally powerful on this map. Her Naval Tactics ability greatly aids surrounding water towers with the most difficult rounds, her +1 pierce to all water towers is very helpful, and her Mega Mines adds solid popping power to her own arsenal. |
Easter eggs
[edit | edit source]

- Interacting with the seaweed on the carving removes it.
- If a Mermonkey is upgraded to one of its 5 upgrades (Lord of the Abyss, Popseidon, or The Final Harmonic), causes the corresponding carving to glow. The glow does not disappear if the Mermonkey with that upgrade is sold or otherwise removed. Lighting up all three carvings makes it interactable. Once interacted with, the carving sinks and reveals extra water space.
