Workshop is an Expert map in Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 12.0. This map features a conveyor belt that passively increases the speed of Bloons by 50%. There are two gizmos, the Reverse Motor and Track Extensions, which can be activated by the player to temporarily increase the time it takes for Bloons to reach the exit. Each can be activated for free the first time, but increase in cost with each round and each time they are used.

Layout

[edit | edit source]

Workshop has two entrances and one exit, one entrance for Bloons and one entrance for blimps. On round 39, the cardboards on the MOAB roll down to signify that the MOAB is coming from there on the next round. There are 4 small loops that are activated by the Track Extension gizmo, and the Reverse Motor slows down all Bloons on screen. Further details on these gizmos are in the section below. There are many line of sight blockers in the form of the green tables and gizmos, limiting the capability of some strategies on this map.

Gizmos

[edit | edit source]

Reverse Motor

[edit | edit source]

When activated, all bloons (including BADs) move at their normal speed for 30 seconds, decreasing 1/3 speed on this map.

The cost increases by $50 per activation and $50 every 10 rounds, but the first activation is always free.

Cost={50×((Round Number1)/10+1)+50×Activation Countfor Activation Count>00for Activation Count=0

Track Extensions

[edit | edit source]

When activated, bloons need to move along the longer lanes, duration of 20 seconds.

The cost increases by $150 per activation and $100 every 15 rounds, but the first activation is always free.

Cost={100×((Round Number1)/15+1)+150×Activation Countfor Activation Count>00for Activation Count=0

Strategy

[edit | edit source]

The 50% increased speed on Workshop significantly increases its difficulty, especially in CHIMPS early-game. Three dart monkeys have to be placed in fairly precise locations to beat the first few rounds. However, the increased Bloon speeds and the single exit make Spike Factories very useful on this map, as they tank the fast and easy-to-leak Bloons very effectively. The power of Spike Factories alone makes Workshop, despite its MOAB lane without active gizmos having the 3rd lowest RBS out of any track in BTD6 (after Blons and Erosion's round 90+ lane), generally considered one of the easier Expert maps in BTD6.

Name Portrait Reasoning
Spike Factories Bloons move at 50% faster speeds on Workshop, making them very easy to slip through defenses and leak. That, and the single-lane nature of this map, greatly enhance Spike Factories' utility on this map, with Spiked Mines being able to carry most defenses through the mid-game. In the late game, Perma-Spike becomes a powerful option, tanking most rounds with ease and usually trivializing the entire late game.
Sauda Because of Workshop's very fast Bloon & MOAB speed, stalling towers are used in almost all strategies on this map. Sauda's Level 7 and Level 11 synergy with these towers, especially stunning ones such as Relentless Glue and Super Glue, make her both powerful and easy to use for Black Borders on this map. She can be placed to cover both the Bloon and MOAB lanes, making her useful in all parts of the game. In addition, the overlapping of the Bloon and MOAB lanes makes her Sword Charge ability deal double damage to MOABs at the intersection between these two tracks.
Super Glue Its ability to stun Bloons and blimps with both its main glue and splat stalls well and buys crucial time for Spike Factories to build up their spikes. After the Version 41.0 buffs, Super Glue has been an extremely potent supporting option with its stunning splats and generally considered a stronger alternative to Icicle Impale. It also pairs extremely well with Sauda, as she deals massive amounts of damage to Bloons and blimps stunned by Super Glue.

  • Power Core renamed to "Track Extensions" and now has proper localizations
  •  Restarting while the Reverse Motor is running no longer causes it to remain permanently active (bug fix)
  • Buff Resolved some cases where merging paths could incorrectly see Bloons on the last segment before swapping path as untargetable (Notably on Workshop) (bug fix)
