Fireball is the Wizard Monkey's path 2 tier 1 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It adds a secondary attack that shoots an exploding fireball projectile. Unlike other explosives, both the fireball itself and the explosion deal damage: the fireball deals 1 fire damage to one Bloon, while the explosion deals 1 explosion damage to up to 15 Bloons, meaning the initial Bloon the fireball hits takes additional damage. Because the fireball has the fire damage type, it will not explode on contact with Purple Bloons. The attack has several crosspathing perks:
- Guided Magic increases the fireball's lifespan and ignores blockers.
- Arcane Blast increases the explosion's damage.
- Arcane Mastery increases the attack's targeting range, the fireball's lifespan, and the explosion's pierce.
- Arcane Spike increases the explosion's MOAB damage.
- Archmage doubles the attack's speed, shoots 3 fireballs at a time instead of 1, and increases the explosion's pierce, damage, and further increases MOAB damage.
- Intense Magic increases the fireball's speed and the explosion's pierce.
- Monkey Sense increases the attack's range and allows it to target and hit Camo Bloons.
- Necromancer and Prince of Darkness can scale the damage of fireball explosions based on graveyard count.

[edit | edit source]Fireball is a relatively slow but helpful secondary attack for dealing with multiple weak bloons in a small area. It's okay in the early-game, though it's best used for crosspaths and as a transition to Wall of Fire. Specific to the fireball attack, it's a cheap source of lead-popping and also has decent burst damage when used for Archmage or Prince of Darkness, however the full strength of middle crosspaths requires Wall of Fire and should be upgraded for higher tier Wizards. Although the fireballs can hit non-Purples to explode Purples indirectly, this method is not reliable. Crosspath benefits on lower-tier Wizards are minimal for Fireball outside of early-game.

Fireball: pierce increased ― 15 → 20
| “ | Wizard Archmage currently doubles the attack speed of the main attack along with adding a sizable MOAB damage bonus, but these benefits are not applied to the extra attacks that it gains as a 533 tower, which specifically makes the 520 crosspath benefits feel disappointing and the base dragon's breath it gains quite insignificant to the main tower. — Update notes |

| “ | Archmage’s MOAB bonuses are a little overkill and being lowered so we can justify a QoL buff with Dragon’s Breath’s scaling adjusting to match more crosspath improvements, meaning it will now benefit from Archmage’s range increase as well as bottom path’s projectile speed increase. — Update notes |
