Bloons TD Battles 2 features nine arenas. Arenas function as the "ranks" in the game, with players being match-made with other players in the same or close arenas as their own. Each Arena has its own set of available maps, and later arenas give increased Monkey Money and Tower XP. Additionally, Arenas each have their own medals which are unlocked at the end of a season based on the highest arena a player reached that season. These medals feature the Arena's corresponding Bloon type as well as the season in which the medal was obtained.

Arenas are the core progression system in Bloons TD Battles 2 and Bloons TD Battles 2+. They consist of groups of players categorized approximately by skill rating, with players only being allowed to battle against other players in their respective arena. Players are also divided into Leagues within their arena, and compete for Trophies to promote or demote to nearby Arenas. Additionally, Arenas each have their own medals which are unlocked at the end of a season based on the highest arena that player reached that season. These medals feature the Arena's corresponding Bloon type as well as the season in which the medal was obtained.

Arena Leagues are week long 30 player leaderboards of players from the same rank.  They function as the primary method to move up or down ranks outside of Red Bloon Camp.  The other main way to promote is by obtaining a 10 game win streak.

At the end of each week, the top players in a league promote to the next Arena.  The number of players able to promote is dependent upon the arena.  Additionally, the bottom 10 players in the league are demoted to the previous arena.

Trophies
Trophies are what determines players placement on the leaderboard.  Upon winning a match, the player earns 3 trophies, with bonus trophies being available at lower arenas.  An additional trophy can be earned by having a win streak of 3 or more or by breaking another player's win streak.  With both bonuses, a maximum of 5 trophies can be earned from a single game.  Additionally, in order to increase the required skill of higher arenas, Ceramic Crucible and above cause you to lose trophies when losing a match.  Ceramic Crucible through BFB Colosseum cause a single trophy to be lost, while ZOMG Superdome and Hall of Masters cause the player to lose 3 trophies.
