Trident Efficiency is rather weak for a lower-tier Mermonkey, which is often less effective than buying a second Mermonkey. Hence, this upgrade is usually bought as a crosspath, especially for higher-tier Mermonkeys. It's still useful for a minor speed buff to lower-tier Mermonkeys. It's less effective than Sharper Prongs in Race conditions but still the best crosspath for an existing 0-1-0 Mermonkey.
