| It has been suggested that this article should be split into Race and Race Event. Discuss your thoughts on the talk page. The editor who added this notice elaborates: Race mode is also playable in CT, Quests, and now Rogue Legends without being tied to this event |

Race Event is a weekly event in Bloons TD 6 introduced in version 7.0 where players attempt to beat a certain amount of rounds as fast as possible. In this game mode, sending of future rounds while the current round is spawning is allowed. Each race can have different modifiers, Tower and/or Hero restrictions, and maps. When all Bloons from all rounds have been defeated, victory is achieved.
While the event is active, players can access it by clicking on the Race icon on the right of the Home Screen or via the Event menu.
Schedule
The Race Event is active every week, usually starting Friday at 07:00:00 UTC and ending Tuesday at 03:00:00 UTC. Exceptions to this schedule are possible, such as when a major update is about to be released, which leads to the event ending early.
Since version 31.0, during the final 5 minutes of the event, players cannot start a game in the Race Event. This change was intended to prevent scores from being submitted past the ending time of the event.
Mechanics
Race Events may appear on different maps of any difficulty every week, although Expert maps appear less often, with the two most difficult maps, Bloody Puddles and Ravine, having never been used. The entry cost is free for the 1st race attempt. After each attempt, the cost becomes
100 (
90 with
Grand Prix Spree, very occasionally less) for entry for 3 hours before becoming free again. One Race Pass can be used to make all future attempts in the current Race Event free, and the usage of Race Pass is forced if the player has one and starts an attempt while the race's 3 hour free-cost timer is still undergoing cooldown.
Backing out of the game will wipe the save for the current attempt. There is also a delay of 0.2s minimum between sending rounds, thus auto-clicking does not send out rounds faster. At the start of the game and after each pause, for the next 25 seconds, a red pie will be on the gear at the top-right. When the red pie is present, pausing again will result in a 2 second penalty, and the penalty increases by 1 second for each subsequent pause while the pie is present until the pie disappears completely. Viewing the upgrades of Towers or the Hero or the upgrading a Super Monkey to Sun Temple or True Sun God counts as pausing as well.
Ruleset
The following is the usual ruleset for Race Events, which can change week by week. In addition, only 1 Hero is usually allowed and Banana Farm is banned in almost all cases. Additional tower restrictions are present for most races as well.
| Rule/modifier | Default value | Note(s) |

Strategy
High-pierce towers gain great importance in Race Events, due to the large clumps of Bloons often present due to sending out many rounds at once. Due to the competitive nature of Race Events, it is recommended to have near-full Monkey Knowledge if a high ranking is desired (unless MK is disabled for the current event, which is uncommon). Leaking some lives in the early game virtually required in almost every race for a top time, so it is not something to worry about. It is also recommended to plan the strategy ahead of time to avoid the penalty that comes from the need to pause frequently to plot the next part of the strategy.
Rewards
When each event is first completed,
2 and
50 are earned, and if it ends on round 100 they will earn a free Insta-Monkey. Additional rewards are given based on the player's final position on the global and Mini-Race leaderboards.
