Monkey Pirates is the Monkey Buccaneer's path 2 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons Monkey City. It unlocks the MOAB Takedown ability, which instantly grabs the strongest target up to a BFB, making it untargetable and deals 20,000 damage to the target after a few seconds (always 3 in the Flash version of Bloons Monkey City). In the multiplatform version, if multiple Bloons have the same strong priority, it will target the first of those Bloons, while in the Flash version, it will target the closest. In the Flash version, it does not generate any cash from instakilled Bloons. It has a 60-second cooldown (55 seconds in the Flash version).

Strategy

Monkey Pirates is a poor usage of cash, even with its massive Monkey Knowledge discounts. Since MOAB-Class Bloons in Bloons Monkey City have much weaker health and MOABs spawn more frequently, it is often cheaper and more reliable to invest in raw MOAB-Class damage, or DDT support in the Flash version (such as Monkey Intelligence Bureau.

Its only niche is against Bloonarius, where a single MOAB/BFB can spawn quite early from Bloonarius's bleed upon reaching a skull.
