The Tech Bot is a consumable tower in Bloons TD Battles 2, introduced in version 4.6. Unlike Banana Farmer and Bloon Bot, there is no limit to the number of Tech Bots that can be placed on the map at a time. Uses of the Tech Bot can be bought with Monkey Money or obtained for free from Daily Rewards and events.
When dropped, a menu will pop up to choose a tower or hero to control the automation of Activated Abilities, if there's applicable targets. Unlike in BTD6, the Tech Bot can automate specific Activated Abilities instead of just all of them. Tech Bot cannot ever activate certain abilities such as:
- "Movement" abilities (Support Chinook's Redeploy ability, Dark Knight's Darkshift)
- "Sacrifice" abilities (Adora's Blood Sacrifice, Fateweaver Adora's Eye of Misfortune)
- "Placement" abilities (Beetienne's Beehives)
However, if Overclock and Ultraboost have selected targets, Tech Bot is able to automate their abilities.

Strategy
Tech Bot is helpful on towers and heroes who may have spammable abilities. Every money-generating ability is among the best candidates for Tech Bot (but turn off Spirit of the Forest's life regeneration ability, unless life gains are intended). Obyn Greenfoot's Brambles and Ocean Obyn's Living Coral both benefit from automation, as the optimal strategy for both abilities are almost always to activate them off cooldown. Players running Overclock to boost Farms may also benefit from Tech Bot.
One niche use of Tech Bot is blocking off spaces for sentries for Sentry Gun and beyond. It's very expensive to use so many Tech Bots for this purpose, so don't use this technique unless you're willing to lose plenty of Monkey Money for a less profitable win.
Some players may choose to equip few or no Tech Bots, because the presence of this placement button is capable of interfering with pressing activated abilities.
