The achievement's name is a reference to Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, two characters from the television series SpongeBob SquarePants. The description is a line from the episode "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV," where SpongeBob has shrunk Squidward with Mermaid Man's belt, and Patrick says he can turn the "M" on the belt upside-down to reverse the effects.

This Achievement should be completed in Easy mode, since going into Freeplay does not prevent the achievement from being obtained. The easiest map to complete this achievement on is Logs, since not only is it long and causes the bloons to double over the same areas a lot, but the logs can be used to block line of sight from towers, meaning you can place offensive towers that have good support behind them to prevent them from stealing pops.

Benjamin is the best hero for this achievement, since he lacks any offensive potential, and the extra money he gives you both directly and from Monkey Banks can help offset the economy loss that Bloon Master Alchemist incurs, additionally, the trojan can help for taking out Moabs before you've saved up for Bloon master Alchemist. Etienne can also be useful to give camo detection to towers universally, but is lacking in support otherwise, and his Level 20 ability can steal a lot of pops in the later rounds where those pops matter the most.

Good Towers for this achievement are ones that focus more on support while having little to no offensive potential, which include Glue Gunners for their ability to slow down bloons, keeping them in range of the Bloon Master Alchemist for Longer, Monkey Villages for the valuable support they provide for both your Bloon Master Alchemist and Glue Gunners and Banana Farms for their income generation.

Top Path for Glue Gunners Should be Avoided, since it increases the damage of them dramatically, but both Middle and Bottom Path are good, Middle Path can slow down bloons very quickly with Glue Hose, and can both increase damage and glue the entire screen with Glue Strike and beyond. Meanwhile, Bottom path gains the ability to slow MOAB class bloons with MOAB Glue, and can stun bloons briefly with Relentless Glue. Super Glue, however, should be avoided, since it heavily increases the damage of the Glue Gunner.

Monkey Villages best path is Middle Path. Radar Scanner grants your Alchemist and Glue Gunners Camo Detection, while Call to Arms and Homeland Defense can both massively increase the offensive power of your Bloon Master Alchemist.

Any Banana Farm should realistically be able to provide good economy, but since Benjamin is already a great hero pick for trying to get this achievement, Monkey Banks can be used for their inherent synergy with Benjamin

Some towers that can also help your Bloon Master Alchemist, but may need to be placed behind logs to prevent them from dealing too much damage include Ultraboost with its extremely powerful attack speed increase, Deadeye and beyond with the range increase it can grant, and The Final Harmonic with its ability to trap bloons in a small circle from anywhere on the map.

Finally, it should be noted that the upgrade before Bloon Master Alchemist, Rubber to Gold, deals very poor damage to moabs, so it may be useful to place down a cheap tower to take out MOABS before they leak, such as a Sharp Shooter or a few MOAB Maulers. These towers should be sold once the Bloon Master Alchemist is bought to prevent them from stealing too many pops.strategy needed
