The Ninja Kiwi Blog (often titled What's Up At Ninja Kiwi?) is a self-published weekly blog run by Ninja Kiwi via Reddit, which is used to announce major updates and in-game events and to answer questions submitted by fans, usually related to Bloons.

The blog was originally hosted solely on their official website, but switched to Reddit after almost two years of the blog being posted to both sites simultaneously.

Content

The Ninja Kiwi Blog hosts sections related to upcoming or very recent updates and events, the top 5 Race Event times, in-game events planned for the week on all supported games, and answering a selection of questions and statements submitted by fans, usually capped off with a joke told in Monklish. A post usually prominently displays a piece of fanart relating to Ninja Kiwi's games.

History

The first three known Ninja Kiwi Blog posts on the official website were all posted on March 2, 2009, with the last of these three being a proper announcement for the blog.[1] From there, it was mostly used to announce upcoming games (including Bloons TD 4)[2] and share fan works such as screenshots.

The first blog with the "What's Up At Ninja Kiwi?" title was posted on November 18, 2013,[3] after an announcement a week prior that Ninja Kiwi would pursue a weekly blog post schedule.[4]

The first blog post on Reddit was posted on October 2, 2020,[5] after the Ninja Kiwi Forums were shut down and replaced with the NinjaKiwiOfficial subreddit in mid-September.[6] While the blog would be ran on Reddit and the Ninja Kiwi website concurrently from then on, a comment spam attack on the July 8, 2022 blog on the website caused Ninja Kiwi to move the blog to Reddit permanently starting with the July 15 blog that year.[7]

While the blog section of the website is still online, it has not been updated since the July 8, 2022 blog, and attempting to read most individual past blog posts results in being redirected to the main blog page. Additionally, Ninja Kiwi removed direct links to the blog on the main website in early-to-mid September of 2025.

On March 6, 2026, Ninja Kiwi announced a monthly blog would be running concurrently with the weekly blog, containing game-related announcements in addition to the usual contents of the weekly blog,[8] following feedback from fans that Ninja Kiwi had requested two months prior.[9]
