Unconfirmed trivia

  • According to Ninja Kiwi's 18th March 2022 blog, Grape Shot grapes can be occasionally eaten by Buccaneers, but not Hot Shot grapes.
  • When the Longer Range upgrade got buffed in Version 18.0, submerged Bloontonium Reactor did not receive the range buff, making it noticeably miss the top section of Firing Range. Submerge and Support remained affected by the range buff. Missing out on Reactor's range buff was likely an oversight. Tested on Version 27.3.
  • In early versions of the game, such as Version 7.x, the 2-0-4 Armor Piercing Darts would always hold its Advanced Intel binoculars upwards towards its eyes. However, in later versions the sailor will always place its binoculars on its right hand leaning on the submarine's handrails.
  • Until a certain update, 3-2-0 Fighter Plane didn't wear goggles that covered the pilot's eyes.
  • Using a Ground Zero ability and then upgrading to Tsar before the bomb lands will convert it into a Tsar ability.
  • The darts from the Spectre are 2D models, while the bombs are 3D models.
  • In BTD6, the Razor Rotors Heli Pilot will intentionally tilt towards the bloons to shred bloons. Similar behavior occurs for Apache Dartship and Apache Prime.
  • In Version 1.6 of the game, there used to be a glitch that caused the Apache Prime to be extremely powerful, firing its frontal plasma cannon at roughly five times the speed. All its projectiles seemingly did double damage as well. The cause of this glitch is unknown, as it only triggered on certain devices.
  • There was a strange interaction with Downdraft and Monkey Intelligence Bureau whereby MIB allows Downdraft to blowback Leads but not Frozen, even though Downdraft normally blowbacks neither Frozen nor Lead. As of 25.1 testing, this glitch no longer exists. Instead, Downdraft is unable to blowback Lead or Frozen Bloons completely. Frozen Bloons unfrozen are still are blown backwards if affected by at least one Downdraft effect, even after 25.1.
    • Prior to Version 36.0 reworking Downdraft's blowback effects, there was an interesting interaction with Frozen Bloons whereby the Downdraft effect can affect them only after the bloons defrost. This was discovered in Version 25.0 after Ninja Kiwi applied a damage types rework for many towers in the game. After v36.0, Frozen Bloons thaw before getting blown backwards once affected by Downdraft.
  • The target reticle for Focused Firing Dartling is smaller than that from the Increased Accuracy Mortar.

Trivia to be rewrote and added

  • "IFR" is an abbreviation for instrument flight rules.
  • It's likely an adaption of the Boeing-Sikorsky RAH-66 Commanche.
  • Formerly, the Dartling Gunner could still count as camo detection for Advanced Intel even as a base tower.[1] This was patched in Version 23.0.
  • In the Dartling Gunner trailer for BTD6, the music used is "Force Field" by Skrya, licensed by Epidemic Sound Publishing.
  • Until Version 46.0 or 47.0, Dartling's Insta images were named xxx-DartlingGunnerInstaInsta.png, but changed to remove that duplicated "Insta" word.
  • The design of the Ray of Doom is likely based on stereotypical supervillain death rays.
  • According to Ninja Kiwi's December 3rd 2021 blog, Ray of Doom Dartling sits on a recliner seat. The operator describes it as "relaxing on a cloud", but Dr. Monkey says it is his "patented La-Z-Monkey technology" according to the thoughts of Ninja Kiwi.
  • Advanced targeting adds a fourth barrel despite not yet increasing atkspd
  • The multiple explosion mechanic for the Hydra Rocket Pods in BTD6 is likely inspired by a bug in the mobile versions of BTD5 generation games whereby Hydra Rocket Pods projectiles gain +1 explosion when paired with pierce buffs such as Monkey Village's Monkey Fort upgrade. Interestingly enough, the bug still exists in BTD5 Mobile and BMC Mobile, but not in BTDB Mobile.
  • The name is based off of the real life Hydra 70mm rockets.
  • the artwork of this upgrade resembles 0-4-1 Dartling instead of 0-4-0 as the Dartling in the artwork contains a tripod.
  • The sound for the Rocket Storm ability is identical to that from Captain Churchill's MOAB Barrage ability when the Hero Voicelines option is disabled.
  • Despite the fact that it looks completely different from the BTD5 Bloon Area Denial System, its BTD5 counterpart, the Rocket Storm actually does a similar pose to it.
  • MAD is also an acronym of "mutually assured destruction", a form of military strategy involving the threat of full-scale destruction against both opposing sides, usually with WMDs. This is further referenced with a preceding upgrade employing a radioactive element.
  • On the Version 29.2 patch notes detailing about the bug fix of Powerful Darts unexpectably preventing lead-popping for Plasma Accelerator and Ray of Doom, the upgrade name for Powerful Darts is incorrectly written with an "F" instead of a "D", resulting in a misspelling that jokingly implies the act of producing odorous flatulence. This misspelling is likely a typo, though it has never been corrected. https://www.reddit.com/r/btd6/comments/rbhs6d/bloons_td_6_update_notes_version_290/
  • Buckshot is projectile inside a shotgun shell that are shot from the shell itself when a shot is fired, the shell itself is stuck while its contents are released from muzzle.
  • Bloon Area Denial System is the only upgrade in BTD6 that does not at all resemble an existing BTD5 upgrade of the same name
  • An "exclusion zone" is a terrestrial region where human access is forbidden.
  • The first Dartling Gunner 2TC was achieved by Dabloon, with 0-2-5 Prince of Darkness + 0-2-5 Bloon Exclusion Zone.[1]
  • Bloon Exclusion Zone is the only Tier 5 Dartling without an appearance in the Dartling Gunner trailer video.
