Status effects (sometimes referred as Mutators (what?) ) are additional modifiers onto Bloons. They were introduced in the original Bloons Tower Defense, with the Ice Ball freezing bloons.
In Bloons TD 6

In Bloons TD 6, something something mutator status effect Sauda bla bla bla.
Frozen: Bloons that are frozen have a transparent shell with snow on top. Stop movement and Regrow properties but cannot be hit by Sharp attacks. Both standard bloons and MOAB-class bloons can be frozen. Can take more damage from attacks that specifically do more damage to Frozen Bloons (e.g. Riptide Champion).
Stunned: Stunned bloons gain a many small white stars that revolve around them. Stops movement. Both standard bloons and MOAB-class bloons can be stunned. Can take more damage from attacks that specifically do more damage to Stunned Bloons (e.g. Heavy Shells).
Glue: Thick glue is stuck on affected bloons. Usually, this status effect will slow down a bloon, but requires special upgrades to affect MOAB-class bloons.
Acid: All offensive Alchemist potions
Sticky Bomb: Derives from Sticky Bomb and Master Bomber, which both have distinct types. Both have a brief delay before exploding.
