Medium is a level of difficulty in the Bloons TD series, introduced in Bloons Tower Defense 2. Medium is usually treated as the default level of difficulty.

Bloons Tower Defense 2

Main article: Medium (BTD2)

In Bloons Tower Defense 2, all difficulty levels have a dedicated track. The Medium track is a grassy field similar to the track in Bloons Tower Defense. The player starts with 75 lives and towers and upgrades cost 2% more than their default costs. (In BTD2, none of the difficulty levels use the default costs.)

Bloons TD 5

Starting from Bloons TD 5, Medium is the default for Bloon speed.

Bloons TD 6

In Bloons TD 6, Medium starts on round 1 and ends on round 60 with the BFB. The player starts with 150 lives, towers and upgrades use their default costs (18% more expensive than Easy and 8% cheaper than Hard), and Bloons move 10% faster than on Easy. Getting all Easy and Medium medals on a map unlocks a silver map border.

Medium Standard is the game mode played on this difficulty with no additional rules.

Modes

  • Standard — No special rules. Unlocks Military Only and Reverse.
  • Military Only — Only Heroes and Military towers can be used. Unlocks Apopalypse.
  • Apopalypse — Rounds are randomized and there are no breaks between rounds. When all Bloons from the last round enter, the next round begins immediately.
  • Reverse — Bloons spawn from the exits and exit at the entrances, and the order of Bloons within each round is reversed. Unlocks Sandbox.
