Range is a fundemental stat that defines the area in which a Tower will detect bloons or other towers for the purposes of doing a certain action. All towers have range which is determined by some modifiers.
Before BTD3, range was determined only by the tower and its upgrades, with the addition of the Monkey Beacon in Bloons TD 3 now external factors such as other towers could affect a towers range. The addition of Premium upgrades in Bloons TD 4, Premium Buildings in Bloons TD 5 and Monkey Knowledge in Bloons Monkey City gave option to new modifiers which modified range in all sessions, external to a session itself.
Currently in Bloons TD 6 range is determined by: Towers type,Upgrades, Monkey Knowledge, Artifacts, Obstacles and Relics.
...There are also non-standard types of range as written out below:
Infinite Range
Some towers will detect in indefinite range, though some do have some limits:
- Sniper Monkey, has infinite range though in BTD 6 generation games is limited by obstacles.
- Monkey Aces, the dart attack of Aircraft Carrier Aces and Dartling Gunner technically have infinite range, being only limited by projectile lifespan. With dartling gunners also being limited by obstacles.
The below have true infinite range, not being able to be modified by anything.
- Psi and Mortar Monkey are the only towers with true infinite range without upgrades, Mortar Monkey causes explosion directly at the target location and Psi shoots at bloons no matter location.
- The active ability of First Strike Capability and the passive ability of Pre-emptive strike will be shot at target no matter location and hit.
- The active of Glue Striker will hit everything on screen with no exception.
- The Active of Ground Zero and Tsar Bomba will hit everything on screen with no exception.
- The Bomber Ace missiles will be shot at and hit target no matter location.
- The hooks of Monkey Pirates, Pirate Lord and Myrkul will hook targets no matter location.
- The fireballs of Inferno Ring will be shot at and hit target no matter location.
- The bombs of Spectre will be shot at target no matter location.
- The mega ballista attack of Primary Expertise will shoot its projectile towards target no matter location.
Dummy Range
Dummy Range is range with no action assinged to it. Dummy range is given to towers with unconventional ranges for the general purpose of providing extra range for the Advanced Intel upgrade, dummy ranged towers are as follows and are as such for the following reasons:
Multiple Range
Some towers have more then one range, with each range correspending to a diffirent action.
