Also built from scratch
[edit source]Should we also state that the wiki was built from the ground up? Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 14:11, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- that would imply we aren't using mediawiki as the framework for this wiki, no? Planterror (talk) 15:47, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with Planterror here - "built from the ground up" would (misleadingly) imply the editors made everything, including the software on which the wiki runs. Humansongs (talk) 00:24, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, people like me were incorrectly saying "built from the ground up". But how do we specify that we built the wiki with only original content and that we've basically got a fresh new beginning? Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 01:16, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
- If we were to add 'nother bullet point,
Welcome to Blooncyclopedia! The free, self-hosted, community-run, publicly accessible and editable Bloons knowledge base that anyone can contribute to.would have to change to fit it. Other than that, I think it's rather obvious we made everything again if you compare literally any page with Fandom. Lilysse (talk) 01:53, 16 January 2026 (UTC)- To add on to what was said, the difference in written content between Blooncyclopedia and Bloons Wiki on Fandom also stems from the fact that the wikis use different, non-compatible licenses, which Blooncyclopedia's copyright page already covers. - Were you trying to say Blooncyclopedia holds high standards in representing gameplay information accurately and has a more practiced approach to writing content? Hubianzhen (talk) 01:59, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
- Yes. None of the content in Blooncyclopedia ever stems directly from Bloons Wiki, and Blooncyclopedia does an entirely new approach to writing accurate content with more formalized writing structure throughout the wiki. Qwertyxp2000 (talk) 02:19, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
