Monkey Village
Reduces cost of all towers and upgrades in radius by 10%.
Monkey Villages provide valuable improvements to nearby monkeys. Helpful later in the game and to fend off MvM attacks. Powerful upgrades include: Monkey Fort, Jungle Drums, Radar Scanner.
It gains a buff to all nearby towers, providing a discount for all towers in range by 10%. It can grant additional buffs to nearby towers, such as extra range, attack speed, money per pop, pierce, or counter specific Bloon properties and immunities.
Monkey Village is a very important supporting tower that becomes more important as the city ranks up. In early cities, it is not essential but can still help improve scores in Contested Territory, and its early upgrades can boost cheaper towers to perform better. Some of the most important buffs of the Village include discounts, attack speed (Jungle Drums), pierce (Monkey Fort), and, later on, innate DDT damage (Monkey Intelligence Bureau) in the Flash version. The discount itself is important on all upgrades that are already very expensive, except Temple Of The Monkey God (which wastes a spare Village if sacrificed).
Monkey Village is one of the most important towers in higher-level cities, which provide higher starting cash. In particular, with enough MK (mainly Village Ranks 1, 6, 11, and Monkey Business Ranks 4, 9, and 14), the discount combined with increased sellback from Monkey Business can save more money buying a starting defense once the Village is sold, though this is risky to do as early on the defense will be much weaker.
Discounting another Village is only worth it after buying enough Village upgrades of one Village, or buying at least the T3 upgrades. In the multiplatform version, there is a way to maximize these savings using a glitch; buy one Village, place a Village in range, and then sell one of the Villages (ideally the first Village), and either Village will keep the discount.
↑ 1.01.11.2In the Flash version, this actually increases the range buff provided by Monkey Beacon by the specified amount, and has no effect on the range of the Village itself.
