The Story of Monkeys vs Bloons

"The Story of Monkeys vs Bloons" (simply titled "Bloons" on Yukfoo Animation's website) is a trailer for a Bloons animation released on Ninja Kiwi's YouTube channel on 22 October 2024. It was directed by Alex Dron and produced by Amy Neave under Yukfoo Animation. An abridged version of the video was released on Ninja Kiwi's X (Twitter) and Instagram pages to promote it.

Dad of Quincy tells the history of the fight between monkeys and Bloons to Quincy, Gwendolin, Obyn Greenfoot, Pat Fusty, and Sauda, and instructs them to find the key to long-lasting victory.

[In town, Obyn, Gwen, Pat, Quincy, and Sauda are sitting in a circle around Dad of Quincy.]

Dad of Quincy: "No one really knows when it all started or where the Bloons came from, just that we have been fighting them for a very, very long time."

[Dad of Quincy clasps his hands and closes his eyes. The camera pans up and right, fading into a primitive Bloon being drawn, which is then colored red.]

Dad of Quincy: "Bloons were primitive at first, but I guess we monkeys were too."

[A Bloons-style Dart Monkey is drawn. It screeches and throws a dart. An animation shows Bloons traveling down a path. A Dart Monkey is placed and begins attacking them.]

Dad of Quincy: "They only had a few colors, and we could defend against them with our simplest inventions: darts, tacks, ice, and bombs."

[The monkeys keep attacking. New towers are placed as Dad of Quincy lists them.]

Dad of Quincy: "But the Bloons got stronger, so we had to as well. We invented the boomerang and the Spike-o-pult. With these new tools, we fought them again and again wherever they appeared, all over the world."

[A gold medal appears, followed by bronze and silver ones to its side.]

Dad of Quincy: "With each victory, we made progress."

[A monkey scientist puts a missing arm cannon on a Tech Terror. Its eyes turn red and it shakes, charging up laser beams. The scientist gives a thumbs up.]

Dad of Quincy: "And with that progress, we developed new skills and powerful abilities that we never dreamed possible."

[The Tech Terror is seen shooting at a MOAB. It explodes, and fades out of the flashback.]

Gwendolin: "But... But the Bloons kept on coming?"

[Footage of a BTD4-style map with many attacking Bloons and Monkeys on it is shown.]

Dad of Quincy: "Yes, Gwen, that they did. And finally, we realized they might never stop. At least, not until we do something different, [holds up finger] learn something more..."

[Pan across the heroes. Obyn glances to the left. Pat puts his arm around Gwen and flexes a pec. Quincy looks discomforted, and looks over at Sauda.]

Dad of Quincy: "Which brings us to you. You will be the first monkey Heroes! Your natural talents, trained over time, can achieve levels of greatness previously impossible!"

[The heroes begin to attack against a purple burst backdrop. Obyn holds up a spirit, Gwen lights her flamethrower, Pat pounds the ground, Quincy aims a plunger arrow with his bow, and Sauda takes out her swords and whirls them. A Monkey Knowledge-like background appears behind them.]

Dad of Quincy: "Working together, you might turn the tides! Working together, your adventures could uncover the key to long-lasting victory in our defense against the Bloons!"

[Dad of Quincy gets hit by a plunger arrow from Quincy, and his eye twitches. The camera focuses back on the heroes. Gwen's tail is on fire, Pat's hand is sore, Quincy whistles the start screen music, Obyn is chased by the spirit orb, and Sauda flies around with her blades. The camera zooms up to show the Bloons logo, with "The story continues..." written above it.]

  • The opening is based on the main menu of Bloons TD 6 and features a Monkeyopolis.
  • The 2D animated segments are based on the art style of the Bloons TD series prior to Bloons TD 6 and feature maps from Bloons TD games:
    • The first animation uses the track from Bloons Tower Defense.
    • The second animation uses the third track in Bloons Tower Defense 3, but with the Bloons going in reverse.
    • The third animation uses the first track in the Flash version of Bloons Tower Defense 3.
    • The fifth animation takes place on Ocean Road in Bloons TD 4, but with the Bloons going in reverse.
