Version 5.0 is the second major update to Bloons Card Storm of 2025. It introduced Mountain Obyn, the Bloontonium Refinery map, more levels for players and Heroes, more cosmetic items, and Ranked seasons 5 and 6.[2]

Mobile UI

  • Zoomed in the camera on mobile user interfaces
  • Position of the player's hand is lowered, and tapping the hand raises the cards

General UI

  • Added animations of Bloons reducing delay naturally, plus a pause for the text "BLOONS ADVANCE" if there are Bloons that reduce delay after the player's turn ended
  • Added a pause plus the text "BLOONS ATTACK!" if there are Bloons that are able to attack the opponent's Hero after the player's turn ends
  • Further adjustments to Tutorial
  • Added an "open next pack" option after opening a pack
  • Heroes menu is revamped, and its sub-menu is moved from "Profile" to "Collection"
  • Decks now have a magnifying glass button to show the full list of cards in one screen
  • Profile screen updated to include more stats and add the location for emote selection
  • "All Bloons with the same delay will more consistently rearrange in terms of placement order"

Opponent AI

Minor improvements to AI - a continuous living project! The AI will now actually “Pick” a card when it plays a card with the Pick keyword, rather than just taking the first one. The logic for targeting Bloons with the most threat has also been improved overall.
  • Altered the algorithm of AI opponents
    • Will now logically choose a card after playing a Pick card, instead of always picking the first card
    • Adjusted logic for targeting Bloons "with the most threat"
  •   Mulligan max amount increased ― 3 → 5 (undocumented)
  • Added new items and potions to Striker's Battleground
    • New Potions: Bloon Juice, Future Visions, Pocket Rocket
    • New Items: Call in Support, Barrel of Monkeys, Miner’s Axe
  •   Bloon Sniper will now actually pop a Bloon even if that Bloon was affected by an On Play heal/buff such as ZJ's Passive Enhancements or Ceramic Glazing Kiln.
  •   Golden Idol's buff now wears off after playing a Power card.
  •   Now reloads if it destroys a Piñata Bloon (bug fix)
  •   No longer generates Bloontonium a second time after draining all Bloontonium (bug fix)
  •   Now removes all Shield instead of being capped at 999 Shield (bug fix)
  •   Can now target Temporary Monkeys (bug fix)
  •   Emboldened Bloon reduces Gold cost correctly when targeted by Setup Bloon (bug fix)
Resolved some issues with how the graveyard was recording Bloons and what The Prestige summoned. This should now work as intended (The Prestige will remove Bloons from the graveyard as they are summoned).

Nested Bloons

Changed functionality so that Bloons that summon other Bloons now correctly summon their Bloons if there is space after the summoning Bloon disappears (ie. Nested Bloon, Blooming Bloon).

  •   If the board is full, Bloons that summon other Bloons will now allow at least one offspring to summon if that parent disappears (bug fix)

Bloon summoning

  •   Bloons that spawn at the end of a turn, such as Undead Bloons summoned by Necromancers or the children of attacking Nested Bloons, no longer decrement their delay on the same turn (undocumented)

Visual changes

  • Doomed buildings now correctly show that they're Doomed (bug fix)
  • Wolf now has a separate sitting idle animation when out of ammo (undocumented)
  • Large Bloons now animate when receiving a buff
  • Steady Growth Bloon now animates when its On Turn Start effect triggers (undocumented)
  • Strengthenator's On Turn Start effect now add an animation when buffing Bloons (undocumented)
  • "Fixed a bug that allowed Monkeys to place on top of each other under specific circumstances"

Text changes

  • All card descriptions, Hero Ability descriptions, and map descriptions that used the term "Attack Power" now use the abbreviation "ATK" instead
  • Added Temporary Ammo keyword to Orders Received, Bionic Boomerang, and Berserker Brew
  • Gwendolin's Fireball: description changed ― "Set target Bloon on fire. Burning Bloons take 30 damage per turn" → "Set target Bloon on fire. Bloons that are on fire take 30 damage per turn"
