Tracks

edit
Note: due to a lack of distinct official names, this article uses popular community-created names for these tracks for the sake of familiarity.

Tracks in the Volcano terrain are completely flat and feature seas of lava that no towers can be placed in. They have paths composed of molten rock that trace the edge of the lava sea.

Keyhole

Difficulty ×1.25 Water? No

Path lengths (units)
Flash Mobile

The path begins at the bottom-left edge of the lava lake, going clockwise across most of a small circle before going directly south again at the bottom right. The multiplatform version of this map has a small island in the middle of the lava lake, while the Flash version has a slightly larger island and an additional corridor of land from the island to the bottom of the screen. The combination of the difficulty modifier of 1.25, the only above 1.0 in the terrain type, and the short length of the path makes this one of the hardest single-lane paths in the game.

The path squiggles from the northwest to the southeast, turning southwest briefly before exiting off the bottom of the screen. Lava is to the right of the path, while terrain is to the left.

The path of this map traces the outline of a lava lagoon on the east side of the map. The lagoon itself has four smaller bays and three islands.

This map consists of four large circular islands, as well as a smaller one between the first three. The path goes around the northwest, southwest, southeast, and northeast islands in that order before returning, circling around the islands in reverse order and in the opposite direction. This creates a helix shape, the namesake of the name listed here.

This map, which is exclusive to the Bloon Dunes, has a path which travels in two directions: vertically, and east-northeast. These directions are used to create three peninsulas shaped like rhombuses. To the south of the path is terrain, while to the north is lava.

The editor who added this notice elaborates: Specific map strategies especially Keyhole in Flash and multiplatform, and more ways to substitute village vs ddts

Volcano Terrain's biggest hurdle is losing Villages for major supports, as well as Ice Monkeys. Another issue is the reduced land space, which is further worsened on DNA and Keyhole. Keyhole is one of the most difficult of all single-lane tracks in the game, having few vantage points and coverage, especially on the multiplatform version.

Village is difficult to replace, especially in the Flash version of Bloons Monkey City due to having no Monkey Intelligence Bureau substitute vs DDTs. Use Banana Farms to compensate a lack of discounts. Without Radar Scanner, reliable internal camo detection or decamos such as Cleansing Foam can be used instead.

It is not recommended to play Monkey Teams on this terrain. Even with both favored towers available, the lack of Village makes this event much harder to play, to the point of impossibility on some maps.
