Any Tower can be placed around the Hero regardless if they're land or water Towers!

Introduced Version 55.0

Land Advantage is a Perk in Bloons TD 6. It allows all towers that can be placed on land or water (including sub-towers placed by other towers, such as Sentries, provided they are placeable on land or water) to be placeable on either type of terrain within a constant 40-unit radius of all Heroes and their placeable sub-towers (e.g. totems, and some Geraldo items such as Shooty Turrets but not Gerry's Fire). Range modifiers do not affect the radius. Amphibious towers behave as if placed on water when in the radius (e.g. Mermonkeys gain their range buff).

Heroes do not affect their own placement with this Perk, though they can affect other Heroes (such as by playing in Co-op). Selling or repositioning a Hero also sells all towers the radius is supporting, except amphibious towers. The player can attempt to reposition a Hero to somewhere they are not placeable normally if it is within the radius (e.g. repositioning Admiral Brickell onto land within the radius), but it causes the Hero to sell itself instead. This Perk also allows Admiral Brickell to deploy her sea mines and Mega Mines on land within the radius (even though they are not technically towers) and Rosalia to position herself on water within the radius before level 7.

Towers that are affected by the perk (even amphibious towers that don't need the perk) get a cloud platform under their model.

Tips

This section was last updated for: version 55.2
  • The most straightforward benefits are allowing other water towers to be placed on any map without Lord of the Abyss or Portable Lakes, or land towers to be placed on water for water-heavy maps without ice platforms or Pontoons. Note that Admiral Brickell, the only water-only Hero, does not have this benefit for herself.
  • Amphibious towers, such as Mermonkeys, can always gain water-based buffs if in range of the Hero, gaining an advantage for Bloontonium Reactor ability strategies or expanding Mermonkey coverage.
  • Do not reposition Heroes via any method or else every otherwise invalid-terrained tower around it gets sold automatically, and also the Hero themself. Dan D'Monke switching forms will also sell any invalid-terrained towers around him.
  • Use Geraldo and his Shooty Turrets for maximum amphibious terrain at a cheap cost. Avoid non-permanent placeable sub-towers. If there's no other options, use a lower footprint Hero such as Ezili to allow more towers to be placed within range.

The editor that added this notice elaborates: Transforming Dan (to AND from) selling towers while transforming, and Brickell mines supporting on Brickell "land", also sub-towers placed on "water" (try sentry gun)
