Relic Knowledge

Relic Knowledge is a game mechanic in Team events in Bloons TD 6. The system consists of Relics, items that grant certain enhancements to the player when enabled, such as making certain towers cheaper, increasing the amount of cash or lives, increasing towers' strength in certain situations, and allowing use of a limited number of free Powers in a game.
Unlocking
editContested Territory
editIn Contested Territory some tiles are Relic tiles which when captured, allows all players on the capturing team to use its Relic as long as they remain in control of that tile. Each player may only use up to four Relics from captured Relic tiles at a time.
In addition to Relic tiles, there are up to three Event Relics and one Daily Power Relic available for purchase with Team Trophies. Daily Power Relics are a Relic which grants free use of a Power. The Daily Power Relic changes every day, and upon refresh teams must spend Team Trophies again to unlock the new one. Event Relics start out inaccessible, but over the course of an event teams get the opportunity to purchase them. After a team purchases a Daily Power or an Event Relic, players on that team all gain access to that Relic for all tiles. At any given time, all teams have access to the same Event Relics and Daily Power Relics.
Occasionally, the same Relic is available as both a Daily Power/Event Relic and a captured Relic at the same time. In that case, two copies of that Relic may be equipped at the same time. The effects of equipping two copies varies depending on the Relic.
Primary Primates, Military Monkeys, Magic Monkeys, Support Simians, and Monkey Tycoon are only available as Event Relics in Contested Territory.
Boss Rush
editIn Boss Rush, teams begin with one Relic enabled. After defeating each island, they gain access to an additional Relic for all the subsequent islands. It's not possible to disable a Relic in Boss Rush.
All Relics, except Power Relics, Relics found exclusively in the Event Store, El Dorado, Rounding Up, Regrow-specific Relics, and life-specific Relics, are possible options for available Relics.

Strategy

Relics provide valuable benefits that usually may help beat games easier. However, while some Relics are simply useless, there are edge cases where certain Relics are more harmful than good. A notable anti-synergy is Heart of Vengeance with Regeneration or Restoration, though the latter two are preferred elsewhere and are worth buying at the Contested Territory shop.
In Contested Territory, the aim is to only pick Relics that will help conquer the board easier and break scores of rival teams. Relics can be game-changing, some strong enough for certain tiles to be literally impossible to beat without them. However, capturing Relic tiles aren't as valuable as Banner or Regular tiles, so only capture necessary Relic tiles. Buying the Store Relics can help gain an advantage, at the cost of Team Trophies. If Team Trophies aren't a concern, it's almost always preferred to buy all of Relics, with exception of useless ones such as Techbot.
In Boss Rush, the strategy to Relics is to forsee the strength of this Relic and take advantage of it, if applicable. There are no actively harmful Relics in Boss Rush, except for Relics that add minor inconveniences (e.g. Bigger Bloon Sabotage potentially stealing Paragon pops, or Flint Tips contributing to high lag).
