Carrier Flagship significantly improves on its previous upgrade, {{BTD6|Aircraft Carrier}}, dealing significantly more damage across the board. Like Aircraft Carrier, Carrier Flagship functions the best on maps with one lane per round, where its planes are more reliable. On maps with simultaneous lanes, the planes' targeting becomes inconsistent, making it less suitable for Black Border runs.

As with Aircraft Carrier, {{BTD6|Hot Shots}} is the superior crosspath if the base range reaches all lanes, allowing the {{BTD6|Destroyer}} attack to function well. Otherwise, {{BTD6|Crow's Nest}} is the superior crosspath, due to increased plane dart pierce and innate {{BTD6|Camo Bloon}} detection. {{BTD6|Admiral Brickell}} is the optimal [[Hero]] for Carrier Flagship, thanks to her Naval Tactics ability doubling attack speed and granting {{BTD6|DDT}} popping power, which the planes' forward-firing darts lack even with Hot Shots.

The substantial attack speed boost makes Carrier Flagship a strong addition to nearly all water-based strategies.
