During games with the Golden Bloon, it repeatedly appears on random rounds starting on round 21. It rewards a small amount of Monkey Money each time it is popped. The Golden Bloon spawns on a random round in each "block" of 10 rounds, starting on round 21 and up to the default number of rounds for the current difficulty and/or mode. For example, on Medium, it will first spawn on a random round from 21 to 30, then on a round from 31 to 40, then on a round from 41 to 50, then finally on a round from 51 to 60, appearing four times in total. Each time the Golden Bloon appears, it starts with more health and gains a new property, except on rounds 91-100 where it uses the same properties as the previous round. The properties it gains include Bloon Mods (Camo and Fortified) and properties of other Bloon types (Lead, Purple, and Zebra). Fortified Golden Bloons have +5 health, which can be removed with de-fortification.
The Golden Bloon always takes only one point of damage per hit, even from "insta-kills" such as Bomb Blitz. Damage over time similarly only deals a maximum of 1 damage per tick. Each time it takes damage (both from attacks and damage over time), it cannot take damage or have its properties stripped for 0.9 seconds afterwards, and it gains a 3× speed boost that lasts for 2 seconds. Additionally, it has a 20% chance to jump forwards or backwards by a random distance between 30 distance units and 20% of the length of the track, with a 2.5-second cooldown. | The Golden Bloon always takes only one point of damage per hit, even from "insta-kills" such as Bomb Blitz and Druid of the Jungle. The Golden Bloon | The Golden Bloon's rewards are simply not worth it. Assuming all medals are obtained (because grinding for medals rewards much more monkey money compared to replaying a game with a medal obtained), they only provide a fraction of the monkey money obtained for just beating the map normally, usually around 30% at most on beginner maps, and providing worse returns the higher the difficulty. Golden Bloons still require popping many of them to gain the monkey money, which usually involves stalling towers that go against the grain of speeding through level completions to get the end of game monkey money reward. Thus, the only true incentive to popping Golden Bloons is to unlock achievements related to Golden Bloons.

*Bloon Dissolver and above tiers, with proper camo support, can melt the golden bloon quickly, since its damage over time effect ticks faster than its damage immunity allowing for instant hits, as well as the glue slowing down the Golden Bloon to provide ample time to pop.
*Silas can freeze the Golden Bloon and can slow it with his Rime. Additionally, his buff to stopping White immunity limits the Cryo Cannon's weakness starting from the 80s when playing on Impoppable.
