Primary Mentoring's buff is most useful for Primary Monkeys that have activated abilities, such as [[MOAB Eliminator (BTD6)|MOAB Eliminator]], [[Perma Charge (BTD6)|Perma Charge]], and [[Super Monkey Fan Club (BTD6)|Super Monkey Fan Club]]. Its flat range bonus and free tier 1 upgrades are helpful, but usually not worth its cost alone. It is usually better to keep the Village as [[Primary Training (BTD6)|Primary Training]] if there are no Primary Monkeys with abilities. Specifically for [[Desperado (BTD6)|Desperado]]s with shotguns, Primary Mentoring gives enough range to this attack that it cannot retain [[Wanderer]] stacks near any Alchemist with only a Village buff,<!--(36×1.1×1.1+5)−(40×1.1) = 4.56, which is > 0--> but not the case for Primary Training.
