Frag Bombs is the Bomb Shooter's path 3 tier 2 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It causes the Bomb Shooter's bombs to emit 8 fragments (10 with 
Fraggy Frags) which deal Sharp damage to nearby Bloons upon exploding, and do not damage its main target. These fragments deal 1 damage, have 1 pierce, and can be affected by external buffs such as Berserker Brew. Fragments improve in damage, pierce, and quantity with Heavy Bombs and its subsequent upgrades. Fragments gain bonus MOAB damage with MOAB Mauler and its subsequent upgrades and MOAB Assassin's ability produces frags with this Crosspath.
This upgrade also increases the Bomb Shooter's range by 2 units.

Frag Bombs suffers greatly from not being able to damage the Bloon that the bomb hits and spawns the frags from, and thus is suboptimal for use by itself. As a crosspath, it is sub-optimal as well, being not recommended for top path Bomb Shooters due to them losing out on reliability and supporting capabilities compared to crosspathing with Missile Launcher. Frag Bombs can be used as a crosspath for MOAB Mauler, MOAB Assassin, and MOAB Eliminator to increase their range slightly and marginally increase their damage, but is generally unnecessary.

A while ago Frag Bombs was reworked to give Bomb normal type damage however we were not happy with the results of that change in the end, we didn’t want to go back and remove that again without giving back something nice in return so it has taken a while but now we have decided to go ahead with changing that back along with swapping out Recursive fortified damage for raw damage which we hope also improves crosspathing as the damage crosspath isn’t such a large increase over the base damage anymore.
