A collection of Special Agents in the thumbnail for Special Agents Only

Special Agents are a game mechanic present in all versions of Bloons TD 5. Special Agents function as consumable towers (with the exception of the Super Monkey Storm) that aren't purchased with cash, instead being purchased with Monkey Money and placed during a game for free. These Agents serve a variety of supportive purposes including extra damage, granting towers Camo detection, and collecting income sources, but usually tend to not be as useful in later rounds.

Special Agents do not have upgrades, but using a set amount of a Special Agent unlocks a Pro variant of that Agent, permanently replacing future versions the Agent with an improved version.

Notably, all but two of the Special Agents are the only towers in the mainline Bloons TD series that aren't monkeys.

Other appearances

[edit | edit source]

The Bee Keeper was added as a proper tower in the mobile version of Bloons TD 4 in an update released after BTD5. It is unlocked by popping 2 million Bloons. It also makes a cameo in Bloons TD Battles 2 as part of Beetienne's paid cosmetic pack.

Tribal Tortoise Team Flair

A Tribal Tortoise heavily resembling the Tribal Turtle is present as Team Flair for Bloons TD 6's Team-based modes. The Tribal Turtle is implicitly mentioned in its description, stating not to ask the Tortoise if it's related.

The Bloonsday Device card features the namesake agent on its card art in Bloons Card Storm.

A Radadactyl and a Radadactyl Pro appear when activating the Party Peak secret on Skull Tweak in Bloons TD 6. They do not interact with towers or Bloons, besides the normal Radadactyl selling any towers placed on the nest before deploying its speaker.
