The Super Monkey Storm is a gameplay element of the Bloons TD series, first introduced in Bloons Tower Defense 3 as a secret precursor to the Activated Ability mechanic of later games. It is a squadron of Super Monkeys that deals a sizable amount of damage to all Bloons onscreen, completely wiping most normal Bloons out, but usually doing lessened damage to MOAB-Class Bloons.
While never a proper tower, the Super Monkey Storm has appeared in some form in all mainline TD games since then, additionally appearing in spinoffs such as Bloons Pop! and Bloons Card Storm.
Gameplay
[edit | edit source]The Super Monkey Storm instantly deals damage often numbering in the thousands upon deployment, though once it is used it does not come back in most games. It usually does not require cash to deploy.
In Bloons Tower Defense 3 and 4, access to the Super Monkey Storm is the final upgrade to the Monkey Beacon tower, which costs an expensive amount of cash every time the upgrade is bought but the ability can be used multiple times as long as the player has cash. In 3, it is listed alongside the other towers in the tower menu, while in 4 it is purchased directly from the Monkey Beacon upgrade path. In Bloons TD 4, the upgrade has a 30-second cooldown between purchases.
In Bloons TD 5, the Super Monkey Storm is a Special Agent that costs
50 per Storm and does not have a cooldown between uses beyond the Storm sequence itself. It instantly destroys all regular Bloons and deals 500 damage to MOAB-Class Bloons. It has a Pro variant that deploys a second Super Monkey Storm after a short delay.
In Bloons TD 6, it appears as a Power, costing
100 per Storm. It deals 4,000 damage to all Bloons. It has an exclusive Monkey Knowledge,
Powerful Monkey Storm, which increases its damage to 5,000. It has a Power Pro variant, the Super Monkey Beacon, which costs
400 and is a proper tower where a weaker Super Monkey Storm is an Activated Ability. It can be upgraded to improve the Activated Ability or the tower itself.
In Bloons Adventure Time TD, it appears as part of an interactive prop on the Supermonkey Villa map. It costs $1,500 to activate and has a 120-second cooldown between purchases, dealing 100 plasma-type damage. Until receiving a rework, Supermonkey's Call in Friends would also summon a Super Monkey Storm.

While the Super Monkey Storm itself is absent from the mobile version of Bloons Supermonkey 2, the Supermonkey Fan Club powerup functions similarly, with a horde of Super Monkey fans flying past and destroying all Bloons they touch when activated.
The Super Monkey Storm is a Powerup that deals 8 damage to all Bloons, completely popping Green Bloons and below. The Powerup is notable in that it has no stated weaknesses in the Bloonspedia, though it cannot penetrate Shields.
The Super Monkey Storm is an Exotic Power card that deals 150 to all Bloons on the opponent's side. It costs 10 gold per card to deploy, but the damage is instant.
