Lych, titled The Gravelord, is a Boss Bloon in Bloons TD 6, introduced in 28.0. It is the second boss introduced to the game and the first one that isn't returning from a previous game in the series.
Lych, titled The Gravelord, is a Boss Bloon in Bloons TD 6, introduced in 28.0. It is the second boss introduced to the game and the first one that isn't returning from a previous game in the series.

Lych has the Regrow property, restoring a small amount of health in nine-second intervals. Attacks that strip Regrow or deal extra damage to Regrow Bloons apply to Lych. Lych periodically casts a shockwave that removes certain kinds of buffs from towers, restoring its Regrow property. The first time Regrow is restored, the healing has a one-time three-second interval before health is restored. For the most part, it can only absorb temporary buffs such as Berserker Brew or Overclock and ignores passive buffs such as the Monkey Village's buffs or Come On Everybody!, though there are exceptions. It also cannot steal buffs provided by Heroes (including Geraldo's Shop items), Powers, or map-specific mechanics, but can steal Paragon buffs. It also reduces sell value of all towers by 35% when it is on screen. Lych will also periodically spawns Tombstones on the track that can be targeted or ignored. They block any pierce and will spawn undead MOABs that increase in tier over time if not destroyed. Towers set to Strong targeting prioritize Tombstones over Lych. Whenever its health reaches a skull, it enters an ethereal and invulnerable state, resurrects childless MOAB-Class Bloons, and spawns Lych-souls that summon more undead MOABs. Lych remains invulnerable until the player pops all the Bloons it spawns.
Lych constantly regenerates health and periodically casts a shockwave that removes certain kinds of buffs from towers, briefly stunning them. It also reduces the sellback of all towers while in play, and constantly spawns Tombstones that summon empowered undead MOAB-class Bloons along the track. Whenever its health reaches a skull, it enters an ethereal and invulnerable state, and spawns multiple Lych-souls that must be destroyed in order to render it vulnerable again.

Regrow property
General
Lych has the Regrow trait, causing it to heal for 1.5% of its maximum HP every 9 seconds, increased by 0.3% per Skull Lych has lost. Lych's Regrow property can be blocked or removed by any attacks that normally block or remove Regrow.

Every 9 seconds, Lych heals itself. It takes additional damage from attacks that deal bonus damage to Regrow and its Regrow properties can be removed from attacks that strip Regrow.
While on the field, all towers have their sellback rate decreased by 35%.

Buff absorbing
Buff absorbing
Every 12 seconds, Lych emits an aura that absorbs certain kinds of buffs from towers around it. At tiers 1-4 the aura has a radius of 100 distance units normally (the same size as Quincy's Storm of Arrows), but at tier 5 it has infinite range. It cannot trigger this ability while in its ethereal state, but the timer continues while it is ethereal, so it will activate immediately upon returning to normal if it's ready. Lych restores its Regrow property, and every tower that has a buff absorbed is stunned for 5 seconds afterwards in addition to losing the buff.

Tombstones
Tombstones
Fill out information relating to tombstones
10 seconds after appearing and every 18 seconds afterwards, Lych spawns a Tombstone 50 units behind its position. 3 seconds after being created and every 9 seconds afterwards, the Tombstone will spawn 1 undead MOAB-class Bloon based on the current tier. Every time the Tombstone summons Bloons, it will increase the strength of the spawned Bloon; if not destroyed by the time it spawns for the fourth time, it will self destruct and spawn 5 of the highest tier Bloon it has available. In addition, Tombstones reduce the pierce of attacks that hit them to 0, and have the highest priority bracket for strong targeting, meaning all towers that target strong will target them before anything else. On Elite, Tombstones will also increase the speed of the Bloons they spawn based on Lych's tier.

Skulls
Every time a skull on its health bar is reached, Lych summons several Lych-souls and enters an ethereal state.

Lych-soul
Lych-soul
The Lych-soul is a smaller and faster version of Lych. 3 Lych-souls are spawned at each skull on Normal and 5 on Elite. While it is alive, it moves at 23 units/s (0.92× Red Bloon speed) and spawns Resurrected MOABs. It has most properties of a Boss Bloon: it instantly defeats the player if it leaks, it is immune to insta-kill abilities and attacks, and is affected by extra Boss damage from towers that have it. It is immune to most slowing or stunning effects, but is affected by Glaive Dominus.

Ethereal state
When a skull is reached, Lych enters an ethereal state. During this time, Lych cannot be targeted and is invulnerable to all sources of damage. Lych does not absorb buffs during this time, but is still healed by selling towers. The ethereal state last until all Lych-souls are destroyed.

Resurrected MOABs
Tombstones are considered Boss Bloons for the purpose of damage bonuses and immunities, and are also affected by bonus damage against MOAB-class bloons.

These resurrected Bloons are much stronger and faster than the normal versions, and do not spawn children when popped. If a MOAB-Class Bloon was a child of another MOAB-Class Bloon, its highest-tier parent within that time takes priority. Resurrected Bloons have the same properties as their non-resurrected counterparts.

Resurrected Bloons appear with green chains wrapped around them.
Undead MOAB-class bloons
Undead MOAB-Class Bloons spawned by Lych are visually dull green in appearance (resembling those resurrected by the Prince of Darkness), and have green chains wrapped around themselves. They have modified HP, usually making them much stronger than their normal versions, but do not spawn children when popped. Lych is able to spawn all MOAB-class Bloons except for DDTs and BADs.
Selling
When Lych is on screen it reduces the sell value of all towers by 35%.

In the console version
Lych's mechanics are different in the Bloons TD 6 due to it being based on an older version of the game.

Buff absorbing
Lych heals a percentage of its maximum health for each buff it absorbs (2% per buff on normal, 4% on elite), and every tower that has a buff absorbed is stunned for 5 seconds afterwards in addition to losing the buff.

Sell healing
Each time the player sells a tower, Lych restores 1% of its maximum health plus 1% for each tier of upgrade it has on its most upgraded path. For example, selling a 0-3-0 Dart Monkey, 1-3-0 Dart Monkey, and 2-3-0 Dart Monkey will all restore 4% of its health. Selling sub-towers is considered the same as selling an unupgraded tower, so those will also restore 1% of its maximum health (including sub-towers of towers with higher tier upgrades, such as Sentry Champion and Master Builder). Sacrificing a tower with a Temple, Adora, or Paragon does not count as selling.

Skulls
Skulls
Every time a skull on its health bar is reached, several behaviours occur: Lych summons one Lych-soul, resurrects childless MOAB-Class Bloons popped in the last 20 seconds, and enters an ethereal state.
Lych-soul

Every time a skull on its health bar is reached, Lych summons a number of Lych-souls evenly spaced on the track, then enters an ethereal state. The Lych-soul is a smaller and faster version of Lych that spawns an Undead MOAB on its position every 9 seconds, and renders Lych ethereal as long as any one is still alive. It has most properties of a Boss Bloon: it instantly defeats the player if it leaks, it is immune to insta-kill abilities and attacks, and is affected by extra Boss damage from towers that have it. It is immune to most slowing or stunning effects, but is affected by Glaive Dominus. The total HP of all active Lych-souls will be displayed by an overlay on Lych's health bar.
Lych-soul
The Lych-soul is a smaller and faster version of Lych which spawns at Lych's position when a skull is reached. While it is alive, it moves at 23 units/s (0.92× Red Bloon speed) it will drain lives from the player every 4 seconds; this can defeat the player if they do not have enough lives remaining. It has most properties of a Boss Bloon: it instantly defeats the player if it leaks, it is immune to insta-kill abilities and attacks, and is affected by extra Boss damage from towers that have it. It is immune to most slowing or stunning effects, but is affected by Glaive Dominus.

Resurrected MOAB class bloons
While ethereal, Lych cannot be targeted nor take damage, but has its movement speed reduced by 50% and cannot regenerate health.
When a skull is reached, Lych will resurrect any non-Boss MOAB-Class Bloons, with exception of BADs, that were popped in the last 20 seconds. Resurrected MOAB class bloons visually have green chains wrapped around themselves, and are much stronger and faster than the normal versions, but do not spawn children when popped. If a MOAB-Class Bloon was a child of another MOAB-Class Bloon, its highest-tier parent within that time takes priority. Resurrected MOAB class bloons have the same properties as their non-resurrected counterparts.

Ethereal state
Normal Lych spawns 3 Lych-souls at 12.5%, 47.5%, and 72.5% along the length of the track, with a random variance of 2.5%. Elite Lych spawns 2 more at 32.5% and 62.5%, for a total of 5.
When a skull is reached, Lych enters an ethereal state. During this time, Lych cannot be targeted and is invulnerable to all sources of damage. Lych does not absorb buffs during this time, but is still healed by selling towers. The ethereal state lasts for 6 seconds, or until the Lych-soul and all resurrected MOAB class bloons are popped, whichever is longer.

Strategy
Strategy
main strategy
main strategyLych is a boss that punishes the player from using too many buffs on their towers, but is important to remember that Lych does not steal all the buffs that towers can receive and has limited range of 100 units before tier 5, so by knowing which buffs can or can't be stolen and placing your buffed towers far away from Lych are useful ways to play around its mechanics.

The best tower to defend Tier 1 Lych and providing heavy damage for Tier 2 is the Elite Defender, it is already a very good option for low tier bosses but it is really amazing against Lych thanks to the Lych-soul lives drain mechanic as it triggers the passive ability to quadruple its attack speed, making quick work from the soul and resurrected MOABs if set to First or Strong targeting and shredding Lych itself with the remaining time. Just make sure to place the Elite Defender far from the track as the passive ability can be stolen. Make sure to sell this tower if it is still on the map for Tier 5.

Other common options for low tier Lych are towers that can deal with the Boss, its soul and the resurrected MOABs at the same time like Sticky Bomb / Master Bomber, M.A.D and Carpet of Spikes. Defenses that are more centralized in a single place of the map like Overdrive or Avatar of Wrath are less effective against Lych due its speed and the ethereal phase specially in multi-lane maps.

If additional defense against the resurrected MOABs are needed, the best option is to add towers that can stall them from any position in the map like MOAB Shove, and Maim MOAB and let them or other towers deal with them before they leak. Insta-kills like Pirate Lord are also useful in this situation, but be careful of slower ones like Ezili's MOAB Hex, as the bloons might leak before they are defeated.

Tiers 3 to 5 can be handled by Paragons and other expensive towers, those are also likely able to deal with the soul and the resurrected MOABs, provided they are still on range. Players must exercise extreme caution against Tier 4 and 5 Lych because at this point it is able to revive DDTs that with their increased health can run past your defenses very easily, because of this, is important to have enough DPS along the track to destroy them, not mattering where they spawn, towers that can quickly stall them and/or have backup towers such as Perma-Spike under a MIB Village.

Permanent Brew, Call to Arms and Homeland Defense are common towers that are used against Bosses, but they should not be used against Lych as they only provide buffs that Lych will use to restore a lot of health, also be wary of farms that are under Overclock or Ultraboost effects.

Currently Lych does not appear in Boss Rush nor Rogue Legends mode.
