Monkeys From Space is an event exclusive to the multiplatform version of Bloons Monkey City, added on version 1.12. During the event, the option is given to the player for aliens to invade, and choosing to accept will abduct random Monkey Buildings and Upgrade Buildings, preventing them from being used during games until the player beats the abducted tile again.
Mechanics
While the event is available, the player will be prompted with an option to activate the event, done when the player first logs in. It can also be manually activated after the player selects the event in the event sidebar.
Once the event is active, a total of 2 to 20 Monkey and Upgrade Buildings will be restricted from use, depending on how many exist in the city. Monkey Buildings that become abducted are counted as damaged, and the Monkey is not available to be placed. Upgrade Buildings that become abducted will allow placement of the tower, but all upgrades will be locked, showing a unique icon in the tower selection bar and upgrade panel. Both buildings require beating the abducted tile to remove the restriction.
To beat an abducted tile, players find 5 Imposter Monkeys with green eyes and a green glob on their back. These spawn similarly to Bloon Spies and can appear near other Monkey Buildings as well as ignore placed paths. After finding all 5 monkeys, all UFOs will turn from green to yellow, indicating that they can be fought. From there, the tile can be re-beat (upgraded to a higher Difficulty dependant on City Level, as well as a potential Bloon Strategy added). If the player loses and quits the abducted tile, then the player must find 5 more Imposter Monkeys to try again. If the player wins the abducted tile, then the UFO is removed and the player can access the building again. The player must repeat this process for each abducted tile until all tiles are completed.
The player can select either tile from an abducted Super Monkey Villa, Ace Airport, or Super Enhancements and take back the building. If the tile captured is a Volcano or Cave tile, additional rewards are granted due to the tile's special properties. Abducted tiles cannot land on Special Mission Tiles unless they are on the aforementioned buildings, in which case they behave like the regular special mission.
Rewards
Defeating the last UFO of each event always rewards the Monkey Astronaut decoration. All other UFOs reward one of the following:
| Item | Amount | Weighting | Approximate Chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 8 | 10.67% | |
| 1 | 1 | 1.33% | |

| Bonus Monkeys | 1–3 | 10 | 13.33% |

- Tiles do not update their highest Bloon type or Bloon Strategy, and thus may display inaccurate information compared to the abducted tile.
