Not sure how many people know this, but four tildes (<code><nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></code>) produces a signature with a timestamp, while only three tildes (<code><nowiki>~~~</nowiki></code>) produces a signature without a timestamp (<code>[[User:Polavux|Polavux]] ([[User talk:Polavux|talk]])</code>). I think I originally intended to use the latter for votes, since there isn't much of a point in including a timestamp in those, but it seems like people are using the full signature instead (including myself, by accident, on occasion). Personally, I would prefer to not use timestamps in votes (while still using them in comments), but I don't know if this should be strictly enforced or just made into a recommendation. I've got into the habit of using four tildes for everything including comments and votes. I think its fine leaving it as it is now. [[User:Overclockbtd|Overclockbtd]] ([[User talk:Overclockbtd|talk]]) 03:10, 30 May 2026 (UTC) | |||

Should we include timestamps in votes?
[edit source]Not sure how many people know this, but four tildes (~~~~) produces a signature with a timestamp, while only three tildes (~~~) produces a signature without a timestamp (Polavux (talk)).
