The Dark Temple Idol is a Special Item in Bloons Monkey City. It unlocks the Temple of the Vengeful Monkey for the Temple Of The Monkey God upgrade. Its mechanics differ depending on the version.

In the multiplatform version, the Temple of the Vengeful Monkey is an Activated Ability granted to all Temples. When activated, it transforms the Temple into the Temple of the Vengeful Monkey for 10 seconds, temporarily doubling its attack speed and pierce, increasing its range by 50%, and causing it to shoot two beams at a time instead of one. It has a 60-second cooldown.

In the Flash version, the Temple of the Vengeful Monkey permanently replaces the Temple of the Monkey God, which has a different appearance, name, upgrade icon, and portrait. Its differences are purely cosmetic.

Strategy

Getting it in Flash is completely useless for strategy. However, in the multiplatform version, Dark Temple Idol unlocks the ability to deal a huge burst of damage, making it a great option to boost a Temple's DPS for a short duration.
