Alluring Melody is the Mermonkey's path 3 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It unlocks a new attack for the Mermonkey that pulls non-MOAB-Class Bloons into a trance. The attack creates an area of effect every 12 seconds, during which Bloons that enter it lose Camo properties, instantly take the total remaining damage of damage over time if they have any (capped at 50 damage each), and circle around the tower anticlockwise. It lasts for 6 seconds, returning tranced Bloons to where they were before when it ends. It has 6 pierce (with Ceramic Bloons consuming 2 pierce), which determines how many Bloons it can entrance at a time. This upgrade also increases the pierce of the Mermonkey's trident splashes from 3 to 9.

Crosspathing with Trident Efficiency increases the rate the trance attack pulls in Bloons at while active, but does not affect its attack cooldown. Trance mechanics

The trance attack repeatedly pulls in bloons every 0.3s (0.27s with 1-0-3, 0.234s with 2-0-3), sucking in up to 6 non-blimp bloons (8 with 0-1-3) at a time. Ceramic Bloons consume 2 pierce and cannot overflow its pierce limit. Upon pulling in a bloon, the latest damage-over-time effect on a bloon deals all its damage instantaneously, capped at 50 damage. Bloons affected the trance will orbit around the Mermonkey for 6 seconds, with radius of 30 units, and once no longer tranced it cannot be pulled in again for 4 seconds after the orbit ends. Bloons are allowed to have their DoTs triggered again while tranced. This attack also pauses the trident attack for 1.2 seconds (1.02s with 1-0-3, 0.804s with 2-0-3).

Alluring Melody is decent for catching bloons and instantly triggering DoT, but has pierce-capping issues. As for its decamo, it's too slow and pierce-deficient to be reliable against dense and/or fast bloons.

The 0-1-3 crosspath is often better, because the downtime is not modified with top path, and the lack of pierce means that the increased grabbing rate that top path provides is rather minimal. However, 2-0-3 offers a better rate of instantly triggering the DoT.

Echosense Network hasn’t felt like it is doing all that it could, so we have increased the maximum number of stacks to raise the ceiling of use here as it is meant to be slow ramping with a high space & cost investment to build heavily into. Mermonkey’s trance was extremely powerful against MOABs but limited against regular Bloons, so we’ve shifted prices apart & improved T3 while raising the cost of T4 to a more appropriate level.

Mermonkey weren’t[sic] feeling they favoured their natural habitat enough, so their Water Placement bonus is getting a boost.

Last update many players felt blindsided when Brickell stopped applying her buff to Mermonkeys since there was no mention in the balance changes section. We would like to apologize for that - it was tasked internally as a bug as it was indeed unintended to work that way. We then left the issue alone for a long time, mostly due to other more pressing matters, and this issue fell through the cracks. In retrospect, it would have been better to treat this as balance rather than a simple bug fix due to how much time had passed. Reading through your feedback, we did consider just reverting the change, however the bigger issue that the feedback reinforced to us was that players considered Mermonkey to be so bad that it was only a "good" tower when used in combination with a single, water-only hero. This sort of forced synergy goes against our design intentions - namely that Mermonkey being our signature amphibious tower should be able to stand on its own without being balance-locked to an interaction with a single hero. With all that in mind, we feel Mermonkey's highest priority right now is large sweeping buffs to each of the paths, so most of the following changes are our first step towards this starting from the low tier crosspaths.
