In the Bloons Monkey City, Cleansing Foam is a very consistent way to neutralize any Camo, Regrow, and Lead threat, being better than any other alternative in the entire game. Only a single foam is necessary, making it much cheaper than a Radar Scanner Village, however since the foam is removed on each round it may still leak strays and placing a second Cleansing Foam still makes it cheaper by a slight margin. The ability to prevent all of these Bloon types makes it valuable in Monkey v Monkey, where multiple assaults can be placed. It is not always necessary to place the Engineer to target the foam in a single area, but to simply keep it away from other tracks so it can target the beginning of the lane.
In the Flash version, Foam is a very consistent way to neutralise any Camo, Regrow, and Lead threat, being better than any other alternative in the entire game. Placing multiple Foam Engineers are still useful, due to the ends of rounds removing all foam.

The multiplatform version of Foam is usable but its supporting functions are very inconsistent due to random targeting and insufficient pierce being easily overrun by a simple Bloon rush. With Monkey Intelligence Bureau's damage type glitch on Foam, its extra damage can be useful when spamming Bloon Traps for damage after income becomes mostly irrelevant in tile captures with heavily restricted Monkey Teams (e.g. Engi-Super on Desert Terrain), but impractical elsewhere.
