The game is played with two players competing against each other by taking turns playing cards. On each turn, players can play [[Bloon (BCS)|Bloon]] cards to attack the opponent, [[Monkey (BCS)|Monkey]] cards to defend against the opponent's Bloons, [[Power (BCS)|Power]] cards to activate beneficial effects and/or disrupt the opponent, or use their [[Hero (BCS)|Hero]]'s abilities, with the objective being to reduce the opposing Hero's health to 0. Many of the game's elements are based on ''[[Bloons TD 6]]'' and ''[[Bloons TD Battles 2]]'', including the aesthetics and many of the Monkeys, Bloons, and Powers.
