CHIMPS[fn 1] (short for No Continues, Hearts lost, Income, Monkey Knowledge, Powers or Selling) is a game mode in Bloons TD 6. In standard play, it is played on Hard difficulty. In singleplayer, it can only be played on a map after completing it on Impoppable.

  • No continues: Continues are disabled. Outside of Co-op, the option is replaced with "Retry Last Round", similar to the Challenge Editor.
  • No hearts lost: The player starts with one life and cannot gain any more, similar to Impoppable.
  • No income: All ways of earning cash besides starting cash, cash per pop, and end-of-round cash are disabled. Bloon Traps and Obyn Greenfoot's Wall of Trees do not multiply the amount of cash per pop.
    • Banana Farms are disabled. (They can be enabled through the Challenge Editor, but they serve no purpose since they can't generate cash.)
    • Double Cash Mode has no effect.
  • No Monkey Knowledge: Monkey Knowledge does not apply.
  • No Powers: Powers (including Insta Monkeys) cannot be used.
  • No Selling: Towers cannot be sold normally. If a tower is forcibly sold through other means, such as using a Support Chinook to relocate a supporting Arctic Wind or Lord of the Abyss, it returns $0. Note that sacrifices, such as Adora's Blood Sacrifice, are not considered selling.

In addition to these restrictions, by default CHIMPS starts on round 6 and ends after round 100 like Impoppable.

Medals

There are two versions of the CHIMPS medal: the red version, which is earned by completing the map on CHIMPS at all, and the black version, which is earned in addition to the red version by completing the game in one session without exiting the game or using the "Retry Last Round" option. If the player only earns the red version, the black version can still be unlocked by replaying the map on CHIMPS and meeting the condition. In Co-op, the red CHIMPS medal is earned if the player quits and re-joins the game later; this doesn't affect the type of CHIMPS medal the other participants earn, so it's possible for players to get different CHIMPS medals from each other even if they played the same match. The map thumbnail doesn't show the red version if the black version is owned, but both are shown on the profile.
